Happy New Year Mendaruni. Oddly enough, my skimmer has had nothing for weeks now. Not even a leaf or bug. Its so cool up here nothing flying at night and no wind so no leaves.

Closing out the New Year eat-fest.

New Years day was more eating and drinking.

We ordered 6 Seven colored Lobsters sent alive.

We had to steam them in a 2 layer steamer my aunt brought over. we steamed them to almost done.

On to the grill they went. They were so big I had to rotate them in and off the grill to cook them all.

My plate. I did a little beef tenderloin, had some drawn butter with garlic and a few beers.

I want everyone to know these are low cholesterol lobsters.
Please Please PLEASE, can i drop in for lunch ?

and as a technical point, the idea with a quad is get your ass off the seat, on the inside of turn, feed it and drift !

    1. Yes Backtard Beadlock wheels around these parts are really nice feature. I smacked quite a few large rocks down in Tak and was close to knocking the bead off the factory wheels. The last thing you want to do out here is break a bead, especially when you ride alone or with a buddy. Its not like your area where you call a tow truck and they come get you. Here you are on your own.
    2. Also....to educate you, the factory tires are 1 ply and are prone to punctures from bamboo and areas and paths that were cleared by locals who cut everything to about 2" off the ground and cut at angle so its like a dagger. You don't have Bamboo where you live.
    3. Also ground clearance is also important. I already tore up the skidplate underneath sailing over large rocks. The taller tires and larger wheels gives you added clearance.
    4. The clutch kit is installed to compensate for the taller tires and ones riding habit. I ride hard and the CVT belt will not hold up well under heavy riding at higher speeds. The clutch kit takes out the linear primary spring and adds a progressive one and the Helix in the secondary has a lighter spring and clocks so the the ramp off throttle to power is much faster versus the factory one which can lag a bit.

Out here people do not ride in "parks" in controlled cleaned paths going 25 mph and roads like where you live.

Stick with F1, you know little about much else. Hey...should one counter steer on an ATV.....
Oh I don't ride in controlled parks. Me and my quad friends used to break into gravel pits. Rip up every pile and then get chased out by security. Who thinks they can keep up. Got involved in a couple police chases too. And British Columbia has some of the best quad trails in the world. We'd cross flowing rivers. The quads would float with the current until we got washed up on the other side of the bank. Only wish I took more video and pictures

    Want to race ?

Totally different terrain and vehicle backtard. That's a quad and 2 wheel drive. Great for sand and gravel pits as are shown in your pics. They are also fun for jumping. I have an ATV, 4 Wheel drive. Totally different from a quad. Also my terrain is jungle trails mostly cut by locals along with a few open used roads by farmers. Once off that beaten path you are on your own. This time of year everything is dry so navigating is not to difficult which is why I am mapping out trails because when rainy season arrives it is an entirely different terrain.

I didn't notice. I thought Mendy uses his camo shorts as swim trunks so while he swims they sort of get washed then he just wears them after until dry and good for another month or so.

Still enjoying beauty weather but it is warming up already. Was 18c this am.

As part of my day, I always spend about an hour playing fetch with the hounds. Judy the oldest doesn't come fight after the ball anymore. she waits out in the back forty so when I throw it, she can snap it up before the others arrive.

Yesterday I met up with one of my long time friend and colleague. Had not seen him since Covid kicked off. He moved onto to another company and as it turns out they are looking at moving their manufacturing here to Thailand so he came over with his wife for a biz trip and some R&R. As we always have done, we ask each other on trips back and forth if we need anything. Just happens I did. He brought over my clutch kit for the ATV. He is staying up in Chiang Mai for 3 days, then back to our place for a few then back to BKK.

Today I got to get out some of my chainsaws. I needed to rotate the tires on my truck. My Hydraulic Chainsaw made life easy as did the Impact Chainsaw.

Finishing it up, I made sure the lugs were torqued to the proper setting for alloy wheels using my Torque Chainsaw. Man I really don't know what I would do without all these chainsaws.

When you rotate your tires, do you keep lefty, lefty and righty, righty or do you use the X method?

I alternate every other time Topps. This time was front to back same side. Next time will be different. This helps to keep the cupping to a minimum.

Yeah I saw that. Man that would be stellar. Never crossed 30c today. The slight breeze must be that cool front coming. Look forward to as many days as we can get before the inferno starts.

Well it never cooled off as they predicted. Its warming up a bit every morning. Still nice though.

After Mendy thought he saw something in my pool, I immediately went and vacuumed it, well to be honest I usually do it every week or so to keep algae from growing and check pH and the salt PPM. . Its one of my favorite chores to do in the morning watching some sports and maybe have a Bloody Mary.

Well I am quite happy that this plant has taken off and seems to have adapted to life in the north. These plants typical grow along the beach areas in sand and require a high saline type soil environment. I babied it along with a bit of salt in the water and added sand when I planted it. Now its normal soil and water. I picked this up on a trip down south. The plan is to have it grow and make a canopy area over the pool deck as you see at many beach resorts

The front pond has sure taken off and become an eco system. This was right after I filled it

    This is today.

I have quite a variety of fish in it along with the red clawed crawdad a small water turtle and the occasional frog.
