Still pouring here. So rather than stare at walls....

Fired up the ATV and off to mud and water.

    Wang rising extremely fast again.

Did a mud run on the ATV and the river is beginning to flood lower fields already.

After a day break in the rain a few days ago, its back and the Wang river is up and over the edges again from just a bit south of our place all the way to Thoen. Locals are out with nets catching fish.

Still pissing down here but does have intermittent breaks. Rain meter shows almost 10cm of rain since midnight today on my weather station.

You did get stuck in a rut some inconsiderate ATV driver had left in the saturated ground?

It's a light rain now. Wife went to get her aunt and bring her here for a few days. She is up in the mountain outside Lampang city and it's too difficult for her to get food and supplies. Man we need 2 or 3 days to dry things out. I am very thankful that it has been only heavy rain and not accompanied with crazy wind gusts. Trees would blow over very easy now.

Nope. I made fish channels for them to set nets. It's a win. . They fish, I send roosters tails of mud all over having fun.

Loving the ATV. Perfect fun for up here. Wife loves it as she takes her Dad to the doctor on it.

    Are they not dangerous?

Not at all. Very stable, 4x4, and fully water resistant as long as you do not cover the intake box up by the front rack. I have been nearly underwater on it a few times.

Joined an ATV/UTV group up here. Will do some offroad treks with them.

Don't let the pesky sun do it, put everything in the dryer.

^ Hahahaha. That image of Mendy the sasquatch fur ball getting a treatment of some sort on my pool bar is an image I would prefer to forget, I verp'd a bit. It was awful in Mendy's thread.

As you know RD anything can happen of course, but I have been riding Motos and ATVs since I was a kid, I will be adding some vids soon as I remember how to host them on YT.

Quads are very much safe as long as you know what you are doing. What was unsafe was the old three wheelers that nobody makes anymore.

Yeah those 3 wheel deals were death traps. Short wheel base, quick oversteer in front and over the bars you go. Rode a few as a kid and nose dived a few times, thankfully in sand.

This ATV is 4 wheel independent suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes and electric power steering. It's like driving a sports car.

Well I appreciate the thoughts Dil, but Mendy bent over to pet a dog and down he went. Nothing extreme sports there.

I did too, and I ate shit on them a few times really bad. I was not surprised when 60 minutes came out with the report about how dangerous they were.

I read that a bunch of new laws are hitting the US on ATVs driving some makers to consider exiting the ATV market and focus only on UTVs. I drove a few UTVs but didn't like the size and transporting it places wouldn't work in my Hilux and while trailers are becoming more readily available, the potential roadside stops isn't worth the headache. I can zip mine into the truck bed and off I go.

Interesting Armstrong. Quads and ATV's are very different and that post was almost 10 years ago. SHeesh dug for that one, eh?

However his death is strange. But people croak every day. I will bite the bullet some day too. Its a shelf life we all have being born. So I say, play hard, have fun, smile and laugh a lot, drink good liquor and eat what you want. . Anytime you live past 65 is all bonus as I see it.

I've got no opinion if they're safe or not as I didnt even know there was a difference between atv or a quad.

The article is about one of my idols who starred with the guy in my profile.

    Rik Mayall.

Didn't that other guy nearly die from a quad bike accident recently clearing snow? Forget his name now... American who was in some Netflix spy kind of series?

As Stumpy says, you've just gotta be careful.

Bigger than that, a 7 ton snowplow. Jeremy Renner.
