Anodard brings new low to customer service.

A nice Aussie chap that is on holiday with his son in Chiang Mai had his holiday disrupted when he found $AUS1500.00 missing.

He had left the cash in a satchel inside his suitcase and when he went to retrive some money he found it was missing. The room was locked nd there ws no sign of forced entry.

On notifying the hotel staff he ws was met by blank stares and much shrugging of shoulders. No offers of condolences and no furious dialing of the police telephone numbers.

After asking for the manager he was told that hewas not in but would arrive soon.

When he returned to the lobby a short time later and asked if the manager had arrived he was informed that he had but was just having a coffee at the moment. Which went down very well.

With the hotel failing to help he visited the police who returned with him the hotel. The were joined by 3 plain clothes investigators. After sampling the mans wine and cigarettes extensively they comiserated over his loss and said they do everything possible to find the perpetrator.

I have had dealings with the Anodard myself.

My advice to everyone is to avoid the place.
Don't mess with these guys just don't stay there

No holiday insurance would cover that sort of negligent behaviour, it was stupid

however, even if the hotel has signs saying they are not responsible for cash and valuables left in the rooms, they could be more considerate

Yeah the guy knows he did the wrong thing but at least a little simulated sympathy and a call to the local police would be in order.

The thing is that the rooms are not readily accessable without a staff member seeing you so it is very unlikely that something wasn't seen or that someone that works there wasn't involved.

They might have been able to get in through a faulty window, though, eh, SBF?

There is no good reason for staying in the Anodard apart from the fairly convenient location. In all other respects it is the epitome of excrement.

Bump it up to $3000 & report a mugging to the police, then get him on the phone to his insurance company. Unless the money was covered already, but I wouldn't have thought it would be.

    hey Mark

if you are going to sign off with your name each post, it would be a lot easier just to change your nik

as for the Anodard, the most exciting hotel in CM

all sorts of things happen there, most of them unpleasant
