Kranuan is a dusty rather depressing place but you might want to contact "Howard"

    Could not agree more.

I would call it a small town though instead of a village.

My sister and I just got back from a recent visit to Kranuan. I haven't been back in years and it has changed a lot. We saw a lot of new farang faces but wasn't able to speak with anyone. My father (a large man with a white beard) has gone back a few times and has probably met some of you during his daily walks around the lake. My father did mention one man he lost contact with who has much respect for my mother because she paid for his wife's school tuition when she was younger.

I'll be going back shortly and would love to meet up as my English deteriorates quite quickly whenever I have an extended stay there.

    Cheers!

I live not far at all from there ( if i can be from any help just ask me questions)
there are some falongs() there and around.
    depressing?
i wouldn't say that, if you can speak the language, there lot's of things to do
without mentioning Castle Howchow Beach Resort Hotel
there are a couple of clubs to mingle with the Thai youth, pool, unless you are an old fat falong they may not let you in,
Depends what you like i suppose

i would not buy a car there,
go to near by khon kaen, you will get the same for maybe 10.000-20.000 less or or much cheaper
    Sorry about me horrible speling
