Joe, that water heater is really low. It should be above the height of the shower so it doesn't get water sprayed on it constantly. One little leak in the box and "Toast" will be your new nick.

Oh don't worry - that's not his place.
A hose in the driveway does nicely in Stoke.
Who do you think he's going to be showing it to, Bsnub?
Though I would agree with redoing it properly. Following what Looper and Edmond suggested. Brown tiles to get a light and dark contrast, low separating wall with a frosted glass pane for lots of natural light. Though something tells me that Mendo isn't too focused on presentation of self and home.
Anyone recommending glass blocks need to be buried back in the 80s where they belong.
^ My feeling exactly.
I don't understand this fascination with Asian style glass blocks, or dodgy maybe tempered/maybe not glass screens.
Just how much light do people need in the shower? Mine are usually taken before it gets light in the morning or after it gets dark in the evening... and guess what... I turn on the light!
Poorly ventilated bathrooms with minimal natural light equals damp surfaces that can build-up unhealthy mold, and can begin to erode materials including grout.
Light Eliminating dampness in your bathroom is the most important thing you can do to prevent mold from taking over. Mold requires two conditions to grow, moisture and darkness, so it's imperative that your bathroom is well ventilated and lit with natural light.
Not that neither the weather in Khorat nor the feet that will be walking in there would help promote anything like that.
A mate that built his own house here has them in his bedroom as he's obsessed with reducing the temperature by as many natural ways as possible. Seems a bit extreme to me, but cannot comment as to the effectiveness as I've yet to be invited in there while he's away, unfortunately.
^^ The bathroom has a permanently open window and is well ventilated. Glass blocks comprising the dividing half wall will not have any bearing on the ventilation of the room.
All they will do is make that dividing wall transparent (ish) instead of opaque. This may or may not make the actual shower area noticeably lighter since the window is above the dividing wall. If a visitor really is obsessed about standing under a spotlight when they take a shower then I can direct them towards the light switch, which operates the ceiling light that shines down onto all parts of the bathroom.
^ are you saying that the knee rashes are from playing sports ?
I ordered this with grate Aunt tizzy pasian
Seems the 20% off was the attracttive young lady
I searched the packaging thorooughly, tho the Kerry vanman had that certain smile
He don't know Joe. Guy couldn't figure out how to hang cheap Plexiglas on his wall and what fasteners to use. Google and YouTube are his best friends for his informational posting content.
As for Mendos El Restroomo, up to him. Apparently he doesn't really care what it looks like. He just wants a wall there with tile and all is done.
And it's always handy to have somewhere nearby where you can have a fkin good rest.
Well... I must admit that I refute the assumption that I don't care about what this bathroom looks like just because I don't like glass blocks or glass screens, we all have different tastes without making them right or wrong. I really don't like those glass block things, nor have I seen brown tiles in a bathroom since a house I lived in as a kid in the 1970s.
But... having said that I am really pissed off tonight as I had to pop out for a bit today and when I returned, fucking 'Lek' was packing up when I checked, and he has done the worst tiling job I have ever seen. But anyway, what can you do? He comes back tomorrow to finish up for a couple of hours and I may as well let him... he charged 5000 Baht and let's face it, that's a couple of hours on Sukhumvit.
I leave this weekend for somewhere between 4 and 8 weeks work, the daughter will be a teenager very soon and desperately needs a shower area of her own... and I do not consider clambering in and out of a bath with a shower curtain safe... sooner or later there will be an accident.
If I had unlimited time in this awful place, didn't work a full time work rotation, was fluent in Isaan monkey dialect and had a wife who didn't consider a busy day one that meant staggering from the bed to flop horizontal in front of the tv for 8 hours, then maybe I could have found a better tiler.
But, you piss with the cock you've got. I had to get this done and it will suffice for now. It is incredibly difficult to find skilled labour around here, regardless of price, and I had a week to sort it out. The wife's about as much use as a drunken chocolate teapot and the gardener is great, but obviously not experienced in picking tilers.
So bollocks to it, unless the April TD photo competition topic is changed from 'dogs', or 'water', to 'the worst tiling jobs you have ever seen in Thailand', there will be no more pics. Because I'd win that hands down.
Fuck me, Isaan really does me in at times.
Thank fuck I'll be back in Norway next week.

Glad to arrive...Glad to leave.
Purrfik!
Didn't we all know that this would end....not to everybodies, except Lek's, satisfaction ?
That said: Someone suggested earlier that you could paint the whole thing.
You can; Some bloody good looking stuff out there, do your own design or let the young lady in on it.
And then cover every piece of tile with transparent 2 component epoxy. Not even Lek, Yogi or you can fuck that up.
Does not sound woke to meTransparent
