Lol. On Jan 1st & 2nd, it rained here the previous night & the ground was wet. I had to take my mom's remaining dog out for her morning routine/ walk. Usually she's very enthusiastic for her walks but when it has rained, she doesn't like to go outside & get her feet wet. I had to carry her out of the house & out of the gate so that she could do her morning business outside. I don't miss that. Haha.
This is my mom's remaining dog. She's 2 years old & the daughter of Seis & Blondie, another former dog. Blondie & Seis were mother-son (yes, it was incest!). So Seis is both the father & brother of this dog.
She's a soi dog w/ some mix, since the fur is longer than ordinary soi dogs. It's good that she's intelligent & there seems to be no visible physical defect. We were worried about that, since she's a product of inbreeding.

^ Nice Katie. So, 'Seis' is six. That's a coincidence because if I was to get another I was planning on calling her 'Jet', which is Thai for seven... I'm pretty sure (but Edmond cam confirm!).
Anyway, despite it being cool and breezy in Korat today, it's been a real dog day.
I first spent an hour up the road with the girl who now seems to own the mummy dog, taking pictures of her puppies.
Then it all got a bit hectic. Last night I spent the evening at my Welsh mate's house and when I started up the car to get home, a cat ran out from underneath somewhere. When we got home the dogs went absolutely mental with the car, going underneath, howling, whining, whimpering and Yogi even tried chewing the front nearside wheel arch.
This morning, this behaviour was still going on and the dogs had even started to chew bits off the underside of our aging Vigo.
I've never seen this kind of thing before, but if any mechanical types recognise these parts I'd be grateful to know if they're important?
I gave the dogs a bollocking and this seemed to spark something off, and all of a sudden Maya and Anna started fighting. There's still unfinished business there it seems. Anna's a street fighter but Maya will always win these fights due to her age, size and strength. I eventually parted them and Anna was bleeding all over the place... so off to the vet it was, after Maya received a flip-flop to the mouth.
The back seat of the Vigo now looked like a crime scene but I eventually battled through the awful Korat traffic and on arrival, the vets took over. It looked like an episode from ER in 'Casualty' and I feared the worst as they ushered me away...
But after investigation, the damage apparently wasn't as bad as we first feared and Anna only had puncture wounds which required no stitches. A good shave, clean up and anti-biotic injection and she was good to go. Sounds like a girl I once met on Sukhumvit.
If I can take a positive from losing my Saturday afternoon, it would be that Anna didn't show the slightest hint of aggression at the vet's, even when surrounded by six strangers after I had been banished from the coal face. I think that's pretty good considering the stressful situation and obvious abuse that she's received in the past at the hands of humans.
On the down side, I'm starting to thing that this increasingly battle-scarred dog's lingerie days may now be over. No way can I get her ready for Chinese New Year.
That's dogone ruff mate
Not important, probably something that helps the car stop. Try not stopping
Seriously:
The rubber part looks like some sort of splash guard. Would not worry about that until the rainy season.
Ther rest looks like chewed up electrical conduit/ It could be from your fog lights.( Not critical) try them out and see if they still work
Or it could be from some sensor, ( Might be a problem)t. But check down there to see if there are any wires loose.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.
I agree BB. Clearly the plastic is an inner wheel well splash guard. Probably the one by the frame to keep water from spinning up on the side of the engine.
The plastic corrugated pieces are wire loom covers but the good thing from the pics, there are no wires in them so they appear stripped off the wires. Again not a bad thing but now the wires are exposed to the road elements. Of course under the Vigo the wires could be trashed and hanging there.
Bloody hell you guys are good.
The rubber/vinyl thing is indeed the splash guard from just inside the near side wheel. It is now slightly ripped and the rubber studs seem to have been eaten but I'll endeavour to get a replacement and maybe even fit it myself. I should have a few months until we get any serious rains again.
And after clambering beneath the car I discovered that the corrugated grey tubing is indeed conduit for an electrical cable. I think this will be OK left as it is because the wires seem to be untouched.
My main worry was that I'd find a half mangled cat caught up in the fan belt but a thorough search revealed no body or body parts. It was cold on Friday night and I think the cat must have snuck inside the engine compartment to keep warm after I parked up at my Welsh mate's house. While bolting when I started up the engine, maybe it pissed itself a bit and left a nice strong scent to send my dogs mental?
As well as being our car, Vigo was also Anna's best buddy who's disappearance some time before last Christmas was the catalyst to bringing Anna in to live with us. Sometimes I wonder if people actually follow Anna's story.
The wife has some pretty serious war paint but I think it would take more than that to get Anna 'lingerie ready' before Chinese New Year.
She's been keeping a very low profile today and as well as having her confidence knocked yet again by Maya, I think she's also a bit embarrassed about her new haircut. FFS... I reckon my 'barber' could have done a better job.
Even Yogi seems to be having some doubts about her just now.
Buy anyway, there is some good news.
Today Mike went to a new home. It's great that some people can spot a good puppy when they see one.
That just leaves Reg and the two girls!
Poor Anna, but good news on Mike!
^ Yes, lucky Mike!
These are such friendly and healthy puppies Helge, I'm really hoping they find homes soon. They're right in the optimal window while still being puppies, currently weaning, but before growing up too much and becoming a bit feral. The trick is to keep them socialised and friendly towards humans but it's hard work of course, and time consuming.
If we didn't have six already I wouldn't hesitate to take in one of the girls. This really is a lovely litter and I see a lot of puppies.
Anna's bouncing back already mate... until the next time. Two Thai females... similar in the pecking order... it could take a while for them to make peace, I guess.
This morning... yes, they're still there for anyone worried that they'd missed out!
And then there were three... the boy in the centre flanked by his two sisters.
Buy a bit of split electrical conduit, slip the wires in through the "split opening. It should stay closed , but for more peace of mind. either tape the split conduit with electrical tape pt use a couple of zip ties.( I would use zip ties)
You can probably find it at your local home improvement store.

^ Nice one BB, thanks!
It was 200 Baht for the splash guard thingy... not too bad!
Of course this isn't a bump for the car parts, it's all about there being three puppies who still need a home!
Who wants a puppy?
Anna and Maya have finally made an uneasy truce but continue to exchange growls and dirty glances.
I think that eventually both will get worn out with the constant battles and just accept their differences and decide to co-exist with the minimum of interaction and therefore conflict. Just like married life, really.
But I can't help feeling that Maya is just just taking the piss.
Anyway, I can't remember if I mentioned that there's 3 gorgeous puppies at the end of our road who are desperate for a home. One of the best litters I've ever seen and only 2 girls and 1 boy left. A lovely loyal mum who will be speyed once her babies are homed and I'll pay for the neutering of any girl puppies.
What's not to like? See above for pics.
^ Yeah, it really is awful in our rural land. Someone else fixated on my dog's bollocks.
Get a garden mate, then you could keep some pets?
