You could find yourself on a country road like this one.
You'll definitely see interesting forms of transport.
You'll find people working in the fields and offering to share their lives with you.
Some will even stop long enough to share a joke or three...What ya picking I ask? Old codger hands me his cutting knife and says, cut some and find out!
Red Beans! Now that's worth a day in the sun for sure. I know why they call it stoop labor now, not that I didn't before but I got to stoop a bit today. Humbling it is. I smell smoke, and where's there's smoke there must be a fire and Terry 57 maybe?
Mate, you live in a stunning part of Thailand. Punters who live here and have never been up there are taking the piss.
I'm up to Chiangmai next week, rented a car and will touring the North once again.
Fooking love it.
They started burning yet.
O.K. no emergency, just putting lunch on the Bar-Bee. Good thing we didn't invite that Ferang, he'd eat the whole mess...damm Aussies! Came in here with a fire extinguisher of all things!
Look at this mess. Fish and Pig on the roaster out doors...life just doesn't get any better does it Terry 57? Couple cool one's and kick back and shoot the breeze with the folks all day long. In case you folks haven't noticed I'm dedicating this thread to Terry 57. He does love Thailand and I like to piss him off cause he's a great laugh most of the time. anyway he's green with envy already and I just begun this story of my morning travels.
One last look at the horizon before we move on...yup! this is country folks.
Well. I'm going up country what ya going to do...dododoodo
I find a nice place in the shade of the teak grove and watch this farmer going about his weeding. Nice view from here. I can almost see Chiang Sean.
Oh,oh, what's that? Wat that?
Since I was in the neighborhood, I thought I'd pay a visit to James Collister the rubber Baron. Hope I got it right Jimmy? I also thought this "Gaff," would suit Terry 57 to a "T."
Looks like "money," to me...sad that price today.
Full frontal for Jim and Guzzie...nice looking cut eh? don't be getting any ideas there Terry 57, this stuffs a lot of work and right now it isn't much fun...
I knew if I drove far enough I'd find somebody doing a build. Putting tiles on the Wat's guest rooms or new novice's rooms I suppose. Pretty aggressive little monk in charge here. Huge Bangkok following and loads of money and free labor.
Up on the roof! Better than "Under the boardwalk, boardwalk! I think musically as I do this tour...she looks like she's holding on for dear life...pose now...click...O.K. chi Krup...Going up country, what ya going to do????
This looks interesting? Desolate looking in a way. Whats that off in the distance?
An old pig sty I think, but the odor is definitely cow. It was originally build for horses, but the owner went bust! Now "One Eyed Brother," keeps his cattle in there.
I think this was the grooming shed for the horses. Now it just sits there.
Interesting design for a Thai house. Must have been for the caretaker or groomers...Calm down Terry57, horse groomers...
Nice view from the front porch. I could do a few sunsetter's from here. No doubt many have done so in the past. We cut Cassava root here yesterday.
I think John Denver's living in here or at least his ghost? country roads take me home....West Virginaaaaaa!
Walden Pond and Henry David T. must have been some beavers here at some point in time? Now they tell me its like "quick sand," down there. Nobodies tested it lately.
