Rent a few rai of land and get in some dirt. Setup a dirt bike/quad bike track.

Buy half a dozen Sonic 125 jack up the suspension and charge people to race them. A few of thos chinese quads as well.

Round here any deviation from the usual mundane supplies can be termed exotic

Went to have a look at this yesterday, it is in great location and the building is as you say designer style. Excellent coffee but for me, rather disappointing food. I had a burger chips and the kids a toasted sandwich with the 'ol lady going for lasagna, all looked Ok but all were a VERY sweet taste. The surprising thing was that while there was steady stram of customers, all of them were Yuppie Thai.
The Western restaurants in Udon, even the Thai owned ones, just don't get Thai customers. I suspect that as a result the owners have decided to accomodate the Thai preference for sweet tastes. Anyway they obviously do well. Are there many other western food places in KK ? Its a while since I have been there and I did notice a lack of farangs around compared with Udon.
There can’t be good living where there is not good drinking

No decent Gym here in Udon, only a couple of hotel ones, but you would have the old codgers dropping off each day with heart attacks.

How about a whore house called Fantasy island cramed full of tastefull totty willing to act out the old timers last wishes for a ten percent cut of his estate . To make it authentic a Thai dwarf running aroud shouting " The wheelchairs " everytime a new customer arrives ! Instant sucess .

A few but its perhaps not such a good idea to persue this avenue for business idea here. There just arnt enough farangs here and the ones that are here all stick to the same set of places like Erics bar. Just around the corner from Eric's bar is a place called Didine, it has a good menu and the food is not too bad, owner is french or german or Austrian or one of them places and he has good bread and does a nice big burger type thing made out of a baggette shape burger bun

The number 1 bar does good food and Dave the scottish owner knocks up a mean fish and chips once a week. location is a bit poor though.

Overall i would say Khon Kaen is not the place to be thinking about a business aimed at foreigners, the established places have cornered what small market there is and the farangs here are definatelty not adventurous enough to stray from their normal hang outs.
