Thank you kingwilly, but I would prefer someone with a Diners card and an Aston, if there's one going!
Oh Sue....... and we thought you were going to be different....

Good grief, this is a busy site! I was expecting one or two extra replies since I signed out yesterday, and am pleasantly surprised.

Thank you all for your kind welcome. I hope to have fun here when I'm in one of my nutty modes (more often than not), and read, learn and dream when I'm feeling more serious.

    Thanks peoples,

    Sue.

I sort of wondered whether it meant that (I've only heard these people called trolls - multi nick is a new one on me)

Even though a certain member or members will probably never believe me, just the same as they probably wouldn't believe any newbie, I can honestly say that I have never registered here on this site before, and wouldn't dream of trying such a thing, as my real character would soon shine through and give it away.

I have a really quite strange sense of humour (sort of eccentric/sarcastic) and just cannot resist jumping in with (what I consider) a witty response when I see a post that is just dying out for a punchline.
I did worry after I'd posted my response to bobcock, and am relieved to see that he wasn't offended.

You'll get to know me and my ways, but one thing I'll tell you now. I never set out to be nasty or to belittle anyone. If a hasty response from me causes offence at anytime, just tell me and I'll apologise immediately, as you can bet that as eggs are eggs, I was only trying to be funny but obviously failed. My friends reckon that I have "typing tourettes", and I can see what they mean sometimes.

    Sue.

Welcome Sue. From what I've seen so far we need a few more like you.

Nothing better to spice up a place than a general office dogsbody.

    Keep posting.

Hi Sue and welcome to Td. It's really quite fun here, and don't be intimidated by the few jokers who try to intimidate, they're really quite harmless

Hi Sue. I've read some posts and you seem quite... sensible, almost level headed, but time will tell... have you ever been in jail?

I'm in decidecly un-sunny Alcester, near Stratford on Avon, but off to Thailand very soon...

    Welcome to the Party Sue.

Like you I am looking toward Thailand and trying to figure out how to get there and in a stable fashion. Getting there is easy. It's the stable part that I am not willing to sacrifice.

I have enjoyed reading many of the varied topics here at Teakdoor to find valuable information and to feed my hunger for most things Thai.

    Good luck on your quest.

First of all, a big thank you and hugs to LB for sending me a PM, explaining all of the various terms that I may come across whilst perusing this forum. I would have replied by PM, but as his or her informative PM made clear, I will have to make 100 posts before I can communicate with himher in private.
I must say that I can't wait, and therefore had better get posting!

For any other newbies who might be in need of enlightenment, here's the copy and paste of the helpful info:

"Newbie. Poster that hasn't been here for very long.

Flaming. Abusive language, taking the mickie etc.

Multi nic. Someone who has various names, pretending to be different people.

Troll. Someone who asks a stupid question, in order to get interesting replies or pretends to be planning something stupid or risky in order to get a discussion, for and against, going.

MKP. Moronic Kiddies post. Speaks for itself.

You will need 100 posts to answer, I think, so don't worry if you can't reply. Enjoy."

Once again, many thanks LB. It really does warm my heart to know there's someone out there that is prepared to give up their valuable time in an effort to help me settle in here on this forum.

    Cheers, my new found friend.

    Sue

    Hi Robslife!

Here's someone who doesn't live that far from me (albeit out in the sticks!)

I quite often drive out there on a weekend, and love that tiny little chip shop you have in the village. The last time I was there, if I remember correctly, it had a "for sale" sign or something similar. I hope it hasn't closed down.
I also made a terrible mess of a hill start last time, after having parked halfway up that really steep road you have that goes out of town (the one with the really gorgeous old houses on the right).
Come to think of it, the entire central (old) part of the village sits in a pretty large (and very deep) bowl .
    I bet that's fun when it's icy!

    Sue.

I think you only need 5 or 10 posts to use the pm function, nowhere near 100.

Erm, I think I may not have too much to offer on that thread.

The closest thing to an erotic experience I've had recently, was when a male colleague pointed out that I had a mass of cheese and onion crisp crumbs in my cleavage (comes from tipping the bag up at the end - and missing my pert little gob). The erotic part was when he offered to brush them off.

That's about it, really. Still want me over there?

    Sue.

Brush them off ??? BRUSH THEM OFF !!!!

I am a bit concerned about your male??? colleague.

I feel sure that any TD poster would have insisted that they be invited to lick them off (real slow)
