Oh, Well, now I understand - you have to go to Church in Aus and NZ otherwise you have no social life. Isn't that true Mem?

It is a bit like this in our village. You see the same people in Church as you meet in the pub!!! Life is a social whirl......not!!!

Well, but I can go to Manchester, Liverpool or London quite easily when I feel in the mood for a change of pace or scene.

But I prefer to live in an environment where I'm known and acknowledged, although I know it wouldn't do for everybody. Still, this village is a nice place to 'just be'. It's very autumnal here just now and peaceful and pretty.

I live in the Wiches - here - but I have never been down into the salt mines. OH has, and it sounds fascinating. Perhaps not for you working down there though.

Well, it's bedtime here - and I must go because I must be up in the morning to take my grandson to school, as usual. Then because it's Tuesday, I must go to work at the bookstore until 2.30pm ish. Then because it's Tuesday, we'll go up the pub in the evening for Quiz Night.

We usually win the booby prize!!

I don't want to bore anybody.....but I would be interested in the pattern of your days, if you wanted to post. I like reading the Recipes and Meal threads for that reason. Perhaps we could have a daily diary.....not that I'm nosey......(much!)

I have two sons, the older one is the one with the Thai girlfriend and she lives in Buri Ram (sic).

Other son is a Falconer and works in a bird of prey centre.

Daughter is a teacher with a small son aged seven and another one on the way.....yippeee!!!

PS If that pic with the vulture doesn't work, I'll try again.

Oh, look it worked.....the one in the green fleece is my younger son!!!

The bird is called Smokey!! He comes to our house for a stopover now and again. He is so intelligent. The only thing he can't do is talk.

I love him. The bird I mean.....well.....and the son......

Pen, you certainly seem to live a full, happy and active life but the vulture pic worries me a little.
Looks like the bird is sizing you son up for lunch.
Yes, I wasn't a fan of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds movie either.

Great to read your posts and you are certainly a welcome addition to our little forum here.
