hi, i am here now so it's ok

Hi all. I am the gent in the TV fora but since this moniker is so popular I have contracted both words to form one and have used the lower case lest I get confused with the other gent who is probably a headcase.
I am quite bored with TV and its predictability but on grazing Teakdoor I find some amusement and interest. Also, there is a degree of genuine sincerity which adds to a mix I find quite interesting.
Admittedly, the standard of grammar can be quite poor and loutishness is allowed a free rein to the possible detriment of reasonable discourse but there is an inherent warmth which more than makes up for those failings.
I do like the repartee betwixt Blake 7, Moog, Butterfly and Scamp and those deliciously dry comments from Ramdom Chances, a man who has yet to reach his potential.
Mr. Dog is to be commended for his endeavours which belie his modest beginnings and I have decided to salute him in the best way I know which is to grace his forum.
The other unnamed posters are not dismissed out of hand through indifference but because to name some and not others would engender ill will and offend when no such thing was intended.
I can be quite spirited but seldom lapse into gratuitous abuse and can be reasonably charitable when it comes to Americans, catholics, homosexuals, lawyers, estate agents and other aberrants.
Also, where is Fon Tok? He was quite arch and knew how to construct a sentance.Pity if he has gone.
Anyway, probably dribbled on too much but hope to be around for a while yet.

Welcome, thegent. I like your style.

Not to be confused with Tornado, however...

I think you'll find him in DrPP's underpants.

And welcome even if it isn't you, but, errr, you.

I'm also extremely pleased to see you here. Now, just remind me, who are you, what is TV and what are you on about?

And note: this could be a problem for you on here.

    I'm all confused.

So is thegent Tornado or thomas Merton?

If it is the former then your reputation precedes. You have acheived a certain notoriety but, in my opinion, your most impressive acheivement was actually borrowing money from the Gentleman Scamp.

    Extraordinary

Its Thomas Merton. Joining us on the Queens birthday with a tally-ho, a chin-up, and a 'don't mind if I do'.

The half page post gave him away. This should be fun.

I thought you were supposed to be on holiday Butterfly?

Anyway maybe you can help me. I am a bit confused over how to use the term "teabagged". For instance if I were to write "Butterfly teabagged a ladyboy last night" would that mean he did the "dipping" or the "stirring"?

Based on the op, I have decided that you are obviously a complete wanker with a writing style similar to an old friend of mine, Ginger Balstein...

    You should enjoy it here.

'Teabagging' is an active verb. I.e your gomers on its eyes = I teabagged.

Its a pity that your grasp of English syntax is so weak, but what can one expect from a man who wears sheepskin coats and sells used cars in Bournemouth.

Thank you all for your welcoming words, even if the odd one still has me somewhat perplexed. What does one do with a cazizzle? Personally, I am quite fond of Frank Zappa's works but he did inspire some dreadful emulation. I suspect the poster means well but for some reason his post has been deleted.

By the way, I am neither Tornado nor Merton. I am me. In his Uma/Wes thread the Scamp wrongly claimed that I had admitted to being Merton. A complete canard I'm afraid and typical of the lad.

I hope this doesn't come as a disappointment.

    Thank you.

I am not up to date on the state of affairs, but this gent has been one of the more interesting and eccentric (in a positive sense) posters in recent TV history.

    Care to share?
It is not The Gent, right, The Gent can't write more than one sentence at a time, so who is that guy?
