    Newbie here, but ain't no newb.

    Greetings folks,

    New here to teakdoor, and I'm liking it here so far.

    I'm a US farang, living in Thailand for 5 years now, and have also stayed in Singapore and China in the past.
    This has gained me experience with asian culture and language.
    I've forgotten most of my Chinese due to not using it, but am currently on the path to fluency in Thai.

    For "work" I help out with my wife's family business and for the most part just do my own thing, mainly hobbies.

    Which are, gardening and gaming. I like TF2.

    I'm also into health and fitness, but not crazy.

    I stay around Bang Kae and Sukhumvit areas and I enjoy traveling, especially outdoors / camping kind of trips.

    My favorite place is Kanchanaburi, I know it's hot and humid, but the nature tends to be more pristine there than other places I've been too. I heard good things about Khao Yai but since going have to heartily disagree, all the wildlife has been culled to make room for all the dairy farms.... And many of the national parks there are too heavily visited. Making it a safe and "cleaner" place for pampered Thais to "camp". Sorry for all the quotations.

    The Mall Bang Kae is the best one, every sat for years they had a famous televised concert at the back in the car park. Now all there is are endless song contests (cheap) and Zabb TV at Prapradeang on Sunday, which is a shadow of what there was before on the telly.
