Hi there, a belated welcome to TD. :-) Don't mind some of the grumpy old farts here, they're worse than Oscar (the grouch). Lol. Someone mentioned the Phils, I'm a native, and yeah, you won't have problems with the language bcos everyone speaks English to some degree, from market sellers & tricycle drivers to office people. They say the food is sh**, though. Judge for yourself. Lol. I just came from a short vacay in Puerto Galera, was great IMO. Very laid-back island vibe, cheaper than Boracay. Saw lots of farang or Kano there. Kano, short for Amerikano, equiv to farang or gringo. Most of the kano look like expats, though some looked touristy too. You won't be able to teach English there, though, as there's no market for kano teachers in the provinces (unlike Thailand). I have a few pic threads in the PI section, if you're interested.
