    Greetings

    Hi everybody,

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Yesterday I did some google search about rubber plantations in Thailand and got a hit here. Very big forum it seems with a lot of good input, so I joined.

I'm married to a …surpise surprise… Thai wife; happily together for over 10 years, two kids.

I used to live and work in Malaysia but recently we relocated back to Germany.

During my years in Malaysia I used every free moment to travel through SEA, feeling blessed that I was able to see most parts of it.

Back then I visited Thailand maybe 8-10 times per year, mostly South Thailand by car, but now from Europe we visit only once a year to see the family (Ubon area). Flights are expensive and time (my work, my kids school holidays etc) very limited.

Sometimes in the future I hope we will be able to return to Asia for good. Bangkok surely would have the infrastructure to set up a business in my field of expertise.

So I’m starting to do my homework now….especially interested to read more about property and farming.

    Cheers

    Markus

May I ask what field that is? It's always interesting to know what people do in the real world and you may well find some other member in a similar line.

Yes Jim, it was your post in some other thread which brought me to this forum. Also did read your blog. Very nice and interesting read indeed. You stopped blogging last year? I hope everything goes well!

the rubber research was because my wife might inherit ca 10 Rai of farm land near to Khong Chiam next year from her father. Not really sure what to do with it. She suggested a small rubber plantation so I did a bit research.
What to do with 10 Rai somewhere nowhere if it really comes to it?

Anyway , @quimbian corholla , my "real life" has nothing to do with farming and only little with real estate. I'm a musician and the plan would be to open a music school or studio in Bangkok. Infrastructure is not bad at all with many well-off Chinese-Thai families sending their kids to learn western music, piano, violin etc.
It's a rather specialized field, what is good. And teaching in English you can ask even higher fees. Same goes for other big cities in the region, like Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.

mangkut, if your not there to watch, you'll get no money and at today's prices, you wouldn't get much anyways.

Find out what type of title, Khong Chiam is a local tourist spot, good title near town, value, bad title next to nowhere, worth the lumber value. Jim
