"START NEW THREAD" Button Keeps Disappearing!

Why does my button on the browser "start new thread" keep disappearing?

    Sometimes it is there.
    Sometimes it isn't there.

I want to start a thread on Living In Thailand forum, but I can't without the button.

I am using the Google Chrome browser.
And I was able to find the button on this forum, but not on the other forum.

OR, Don't you like my threads?
It takes me a lot of thought to post a thread,
And I thought my creativity was not unappreciated here.

    Thank you.
Hope for a reply here soon.

Are you saying the answer to what I am asking is SECRET information?

Or, is this just a case of no one knows?

Maybe I have not paid off enough people in my life that you want me to pay a little more?

Here I am in need of submitting a thread to ask for some help in the Language forum, or about Thai language learning, and I am sincere, and I am smart, and now I am ready, but this evening I can't find my button,

And you are talking to me about HP Sauce?

What kind of a forum is this anyway!?

Well, OK then. Why didn't you say so in the first place.

    NOW, my button is back.

    So I am OFF!
I am typing the new thread as we speak.

(And thank you for the moral support, if not much else.)

    Button F O U N D!

I do try to be honest as possible when posting anything.

So it is with considerable awkwardness that I must say that I believe the reason I could not find the button in question is that I did not scroll down far enough on the page.

The confusion only results where the page lists SUB-FORUMS, because if you look at those pages, you cannot find the New Threads button unless you really navigate pretty far down.

So I just wanted to clarify what I think was happening. Now I know how these pages are designed, and so now I will know to go low.

(You might want to correct this problem with a re-design to make the button much more conspicuous in the cluttered page. Or not, it really does not matter now that I know how to find what I am looking for. Sometimes, when you are young or a virgin, not only can't you find what you are looking for, but you can't even find the right hole when it is there staring you right in the face. Go figure.)

I should update here, that I now have much less difficulty finding the "new thread" button. Obviously this button should be RED instead of just the same bluish gray. And, the main reason it was difficult to find at first is that, due to the sub-forum listings, this pushed the button pretty far down on the web page.

Probably I am not the only one who experienced difficulties, but I think I may be the only one who started a thread about not being able to find the "start new thread" button.

This is not easy to do in itself, I think.

These two links you post, while interesting, do not in any way address the question I was pointing out in my thread, which is the inability to locate the button in the first place, due to both its color, and to its placement too far down on the page.

Thank you for re-posting these here though so that they can be read by more users in more places.

    IMPORTANT ADDENDUM:-------
    -----------------------------------------------

Now I can find the New Threads Button, but after I started the last two threads, then my threads I can't find?

This is very strange, and it seems as if someone might be trying to tell me something here.

Or, do you think it is purposeful and intentional that either they don't let me find the button, or they don't let me see my new threads once I have started them?

This last thread I started about 30 minutes ago, it was about the wealthiest poster in the Lounge and I was wondering if his name was Marc Faber.

I do not think that Faber would mind my inquiring after him, so I can't understand why I can't find my thread.

    Any ideas?

I think my question might have been would they not have some sort of message that acknowledges one has posted a thread, but also that the number of threads one can post may not exceed a certain number per day?

If we look at the search function, for example, we can see that we are only allowed one search every 20 seconds, and that as soon as we try to exceed this number, inadvertently, we receive a notice message telling us to wait.

This is why I wonder if there is any limit to the number of threads or posts we should submit, or any other guidelines of this nature. That is all I was asking I think.

    Or, what about this possibility:

Do you think my last thread regarding Marc Faber, being the wealthiest poster in the TD Lounge might be just on hold, due to a server problem, and that it will soon show up in due course?

The reason I ask is that I have noticed other posters asking why sometimes their threads get moved, causing them to be unable to find them where they left them.

If this is the case, then would someone please tell me if you have seen anything mentioning Marc Faber recently anywhere?

    Thanks.

Now that I look more closely, I see that there are two separate posts both stamped with the same time stamp, and both showing the same post number.

So My guess is that this is just a server glitch, maybe due to some connection problem with the local network where I am. And this could easily also explain why my recent Marc Faber thread was lost.

    Time will tell, no doubt.

    Hi Guys!,

First I want to say how honored I am to be here contributing my two cents, or Bahts or pence or whatever you prefer. I think this is a fairly lenient and liberal forum which is not too restricting, the better to write about what one finds interesting.

But I do have one question regarding a Thread which I cannot find that I posted in the Language Section.

This was a very factually correct account of my hours last night spent learning about Thai conjunctions. And then I posted verbatim some examples I found on a Thai website that is also an on-line dictionary.

THE THING IS: I did not post anything that I would not have been very comfortable in bringing up/mentioning in a university level Thai Language class which has both women and men learning Thai language together.

So I would like to have this thread checked again for accuracy and then re-posted if it is found to be correct.

Otherwise, if too many of these threads are removed when there is no reason to remove them, we run the risk of the commenters here doing more self-censoring than is needed, which is bad for the quality of the Teak Door Forum.

There is another site you may know of which is, some people say, Number One in Thailand. The problem with the site is that it is becoming less and less forgiving of any extremely minor possibly questionable postings. Maybe this site is changing this way so that it can position itself as primarily an on-line retail store, and I have heard that George is trying to sell stuff now. Maybe he wants to become the Bezos of Thailand, on his site which will become the new Amazon of SE Asia. WHo knows.

Anyway, respectfully, I think you might want to look that thread which I started over a second time, and then post it, because I checked it myself before posting it, and it really, honestly, seemed OK to me, and acceptable for a local Thai language course, and perfectly suitable for this forum also.

Or let me know what you don't like about it, if you don't like it.

    Thank you!
