21" or 26" front?
21" or 26" front?
Will be going for a complete kit from NHRS or Delkron, need to get rid of the cam chain set up for the gear drive cams. Dont want anything insane just 100 hp will be fine. This engine only has 17,000 miles 28,000 klm.
lined up against a VTX 1700 the night of the bike week and was shocked that the roadking held its own, didnt win but was only a bike length in it by the time we hit third, not bad for a fat old girl.
Loving the new relaxed stlye of riding from the roadking and fact I can carry plenty of gear if needed. I put some sound of chrome speakers on and even with out the screen on I can hear it at 60 to 70 m/h. Already changed all the switch gear and mirrors as well added the Arlen ness FI tuner.
Will be the 21" so I dont need to change the rake.Originally Posted by Travelmate

But there you go, if we all liked the same shit it would be a dull old world.
As for my credentials, owned my first bike at 14 in 1962, a BSA single 350
(what a heap it was) 1st new bike, Got a proper bike for racing, 70 Kawa H1 Mach3.
Couldn't stop after 5 Laps of our local track, found that out when the brakes gave out after 3 and hit the logs at the end of the main straight, spent a few weeks gazing at the ceiling of hospital.
Too many bikes to count after that, Best was a 996 SPS.
There can’t be good living where there is not good drinking
That being said there arent any cruizers out there that do all three as good as a sports bike, I really dont see harleys as slow, heavy yes but once rolling the engine have enough power to have fun, for me anyway.Originally Posted by peterpan
Braking I do beleive the large dual disk front on my bike are good enough and the harley roadking came in first against 3 of the jap cruizers in braking in one of the new mags I have here.
Handling is soft but hey what do you expect for a mobile arm chair but enough for normal to quick road riding.
Me and a few lads are off for a ride tomorrow out Karsin way then up to Udon for a night out if you are around for a beer Pp.
I don't get the idea of doing engine mods on a fat pigOriginally Posted by Rigger

Stick it in top gear and thump away.
Should be quoting torque numbers not horsepower.
03 Nighttrain w/ 1st stage and 09 Nightrain w/ 1st stage. Love them both, no trouble, and not gay.
every bloke should have at least 2 HD,S in the shed...
I have a question. If Harley's are so undesirable, then why are people paying stupid money for them in Thailand (and don't say because they are stupid)?

Good point Rick, for the Thai its a rich man status symbol, a few yrs ago you couldn't give an older classic Ducati away but now the Thai are cottoning on and they are starting to be worth money.
Pretty much the same for all Harley. The first CM bike week I went to I couldn't believe the Number of Harleys that were taken up by truck, for pose and parade purposes only.
A Harley in Thailand for many is just an ornament.
I once brought a Pristine almost 0 km Duke 996 off a guy, he had the full range. 2 x BMW's a couple of Ducs and 3 Harleys, all had very low Mileage.
His first bike was there as well, a 100% perfect GSX 750 Katana,
He wasn't a rider he was a collector.
