    cars and trees

This happened in Western Australia a few days ago two Italian backpackers somehow managed to cross on the wrong side of the road and hit a tree.

Not a very big tree but it tore the car apart and killed the driver and put his friend in hospital. Seen it happen a lot in Oz if you hit a tree in a vehicle your chances of surviving are slim.

I once attended an accident where a totally mangled car was near a big tree with not a mark on it, until I shone the torch about 12 feet up the tree. The car had hit a culvert on the side of the road and taken off.

Whilst removing the body from the car the ambo I was with picked up something from the footwell and said, "Hmm, what's this? Oh, it's his heart."

    The driver didn't survive.

Looks like they've mixed pretty well, to be honest.

Bet unmixing them was a bit of a bitch.

If anyone ever wondered where the saying wrapped it around a tree came from...

    Or written off.
