    Does anyone know the owner?

Unlikely, I know, but on Friday in Pattaya, I saw a Sunbeam S7 motorcycle on the back of a truck. As it was on the opposite side of the road, was unable to see if the Sunbeam or the truck were locally registered.

    Does anyone know the owner?

Or of any other Sunbeam S7's in Thailand, that might be for sale?

This raised a smile. My best friend was riding through the village on his way home on an S7.

Anther friend was in a Morris 1000 van waiting at the crossroads to cross, thought he would pull out in front as a joke. He miss timed it an my friend ran into the van just in front of the passenger door. My friend sailed over the van and landed on the road the other-side.

The impact somehow pushed the van engine into the radiator and bent the mudguard on the Sunbeam

We could never find the correct tire so we used a car tire on the back.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.

Cool bikes, I met Thai rider a while back who has one and rides it frequently.

I've never seen one up close.

    Interesting Sunbeam site

    Sunbeams

When we lived in Phuket our neighbour was a 'Sunbeam man' he'd been restoring them in UK and selling to mainly USA and Canadian collectors. He always said the S7 was a better bike than th S8.
Now retired but he kept a few old bikes - these pics of some of his ones

    *************

Max Corkill and his cat Rastus were well known on NZ roads, used in TV commercials for Bell tea, did so much work for charities, always on fund-raising rides and rallies, and most times on his Sunbeam S7. Max was a NZer who'd spent his working life in Canada, came back to NZ and restored and re-sold Sunbeams in NZ. Sadly Max, his partner, and Rastus here killed in a motorcycle accident - hit by a drugged unlicensed car driver.

Don't know who counted, but news reported over 1100 bikes in the funeral procession. I'm in there somewhere, a sad day.
    RIP Max, Rastus and Gaynor.
