The Stupity of these Kunts is unreal

I swear one day I'm going to get one of them, this is nearly every other day, I go out for a couple of hours and tonights incident I need to go my wife's office and I do this maybe 2 or 3 times a day, as I am coming along the road and I am indicating well before i need to turn right onto the forecourt of the office.

With the break lights also on tonight in the dark this little twat comes around the outside of me as I am about to turn I even had the window open were I shouted at him in my best English and he looked at me in horror I nearly wiped him out because I was already turning only because I saw him I stopped.

This is like every other day, does anybody else have the same problem?

Thais and motor vehicles - not a good mix . Reminds me of an incident I had in Hua Hin when on the bike trying to make a left turn . Some prat in a pickup about a foot off my rear wheel , I indicated in good time , realised he wasn't backing off so couldn't take enough speed off to make the turn safely . So I went past the turning and pulled over - only for her indoors to start telling me I should've braked harder to 'make him slow down' !
Caused quite an argument , but she's Thai so she explained how he'd be in the wrong if he hit us . Would still have hurt though and as a foreigner I'd have had to foot the bill .

I almost run over a fat little monkey on his motorbike today,

you just have to learn how to avoid them, quite stressful, but eventually it gives you great driving skills

I blame the wearing of the helmet, they all think they are invincible now

I noticed in the last few days they have been acting more foolish than usual, probably the new year frenzy, you know what I mean, like chimps in their cage when the zoo keeper is bringing them special food

Saw one - and nearly involved in one tonight !

At the traffic lights behind 4 more bikes - all going straight on

    Lights green

Prat in the outside lane turns left and wiped out 3 of the bikes in front of me
Nobody seriously injured - bits of bark missing - broken plastic fairings everywhere - the driver stopped - backed off the mess - drove away !!

    WTF !

Young thai on a bike in Samui pulled out on me whilst texting on his phone . This was directly after looking me straight in the eye . Chased him down the hill and explained loudly in my best anglo-saxon what a cock he was . She-who-knows-all then told me I shouldn't raise my voice as it's not the 'thai way' .
    Well I ain't friggin Thai am I ?

I know exactly how you feel FR.

I was stationary in the middle of the road the other day, brake lights on, indicating to turn right into a driveway. I waited for the traffic coming in the other direction to clear, checked in my wing mirrors, and started the turn. A guy on a bike came from the blind spot on the right side and overtook. Just missed catching me, but he had to swerve a long way round me. Twat.

The sleep of reason brings forth monsters.

Disregarding what all the 'do gooders' say about Thais, they have very little 'common sense'.

In Pattaya for NY. They put a new traffic light at Khaopai and S. Pattaya Road which all the Thai motorcycle fukwits are ignoring. I almost wiped one out last night there.

I had similar happen to me a few months back when visiting my wife's niece and new baby in another village near us. I was signaling to turn right to turn onto a road that veered to the right. I was doing about 20km an hour and as I began my turn, I saw a motorbike blur in my right mirror as he plowed into my right side taking the mirror with him. Not really sure what he was thinking as I saw him hit the pavement head first and his bike not far behind. Luckily, he was wearing a helmet or he would have been toast. My brother-in-law spoke to him in Thai and I kept saying he should go see a doctor. He kept refusing as a crowd started gathering, so I gave him 500 baht and said he should go see a doctor, but he just gave me a blank stare. He was a younger boy, maybe 15-16 years old and probably did not have a license to be on the road. I helped him put his bike back together and he had a scrape on his right shoulder. Very luck considering he just collided with a Toyota Vigo pick up. I just saw myself running him over while he was spralled on the pavement, but I was able to slam on the brakes in time. This was very disturbing to me and almost made me not want to drive anymore, but my brother-in-law kept saying it was his fault. No bystanders seemed to disagree and I climbed back into my truck and drove back home well shaken.
This was my second situation where I signaled well ahead of a turn and a motorbike has tried to pass me on the side I was turning. Don't know what else one can do to avoid it. A very lucky boy indeed and I was lucky as well not having to worry about seriously injuring him in a incident that could have been deadly.

In time you will learn not to bother with indicator lights as they only give you a false sense of security.

Just drive as though everyone is about to pass you either on the left or the right at any given moment, and don't be at all surprised or annoyed when someone comes the wrong way up the road towards you.

There you go - Thailand's Highway Code.

Yes, the 'Wacky Races' style of the motorbikes all revving away from a long stay at the red light at major intersections is quite a show to behold.

I once bore witness to all 12 lanes of the Phetburi Road flowing in the direction away from Pratunam for no reason whatsoever. In fact, the only car pointing in the other direction was the taxi I was in. It has never ocurrer before or since, just must have happened as a result of some mad 'herd' instinct.

This is another of my favourite Thai driving moments. I'm approaching a major road, intending to turn left. I slow down, indicate left, keep left, and I'm met head on by a twat trying to cut the corner from the main road into my road. We're now stationary face to face. I usually just sit and wait for him or her to figure something out.
