I've just regurgitated this from a post ages back by myself...
(One dead, two critical following Phuket horror smash)https://teakdoor.com/thailand-and-asia-news/80372-one-dead-two-critical-following-phuket.html#post1568046

Right, here's my story and it happens everyday...without fail.

On the way to work this morning I arrive at the traffic lights red with 36 seconds remaining...
The lights change to green and I turn right at the T junction...you've guessed it. Even though the lights are red for the other traffic two motorbikes come flying through the red light from my left...I see them coming and that they aren't gonna stop...so I make the necessary adjustments for these morons..

The first through the red was a fat wanker going about 100kmph on his Honda Click..
(shame he didn't click his brain in this morning..then again can they ever engage brain?? )...and very bald all over..believe he looked like this..

and the second a female who came through with such nonchalance...I just saw 'RED' a colour that I think Thai's are almost incapable of seeing...unless paid too!!!! Sorry Thaksin lovers...

The Terrence on the Click took the next right before I managed to give him the daggers stare of incredulity...

However, the stupid as fuck woman was infront...the nest set of traffic lights turned red another T junction..this time she was in my position at the base as it were of the T'. She was slowing to a stop!!!!!!!...I was turning right...So in my 'bestest' Thai shouted at her...red light go, go, go...Why have you stopped??? You didn't stop at the last red light!!!! You retard...
She looked at me with amazement...obviously thinking "WOW farang speak Thai well"...

No doubt at the same time feeling hard done by....as Thai's are never wrong and can never admit doing something wrong..unless it's gonna get them off....
    "Kor fuc*ing tord na khrap"

A nation of most selfish and ignorant people...decades behind most other Asian countries... Just take 3G for example... Thailand Version 1.0....never got the firmware for the update!!!! NEVER WILL....
There are no strangers here, just friends you haven't met yet.

Whatever way you look at it.. Per capita, Thailand is the most dangerous country in the 'travelled world' I did say per capita..so before you start going China, India...yada yada yada...

Man these guys and girls are pathetic...they see the stat's and the mess on the roads just like we do....In fact it's like a special event from what I can tell..

Round my way they pile in to the area of the accident and just gawp!!!

Better than TV for most I would have to believe.

I know well educated Thais, who know the risks about driving dangerously. Strangely, they seem to ignore the fact that alcohol & driving is a disastrous practice.
The reason why they ignore this practice is clear...they simply are able to 'pay off' the BIB (thieves).

There's a forum I frequent that deals in the realities of life via pictures. There's a whole forum dedicated to Thai dumb-fuckery regarding road accidents and the like. Nearly all of the threads show the aftermath of terrible RTA's and there is picture after picture of the body snatchers pointing at the dead-dumb-thai that's been reduced to a fleshy matter because they have no idea of the dangers of the road.

If private ambulances are making a killing at retrieving the dead then that's the business to be in in Thailand.

Same thing as the example has happened to me on Soi Siam CC at the crocodile farm cross roads, they really have no idea, but I must say I thought Phuket motorbike riders are worse and I feel safer driver in Pattaya.

All that Thai boxing is really bringing out your muscle tone, Papillion - you look 'cut'; when you're wearing your wifebeater T-shirt strolling down soi 4, the chaps must just drool all over you... lovely.

Thai roads and driving habits are a great unemployment solution and Darwinian clearing system for crap genes and stupid cvunts.

Just weld a railroad track around the biggest fvck-off truck you can find and go have a blast.

Not related to driving but I thought of the title of this thread immediately I saw this.

Hmm I wonder why the wheel wobbles when I ride fast?
Maybe it is the 45 gram. golf ball covering the valve stem?

Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.

They do it because they are complete & utter morons. Also, the number of 'westerners' that do it is significantly lower than the number of Thais who do it. Any National Road Toll results will indicate this by comparison.

    Thais do it because;
1] Road rules are not enforced. Corruption IS enforced (you can 'drink & drive' if you have enough money).
2] Buddha is in control...not themselves.
3] They have 47 amulets hanging from the rearview mirror, as well as another 98 amulets hanging around their necks.
4] Sanook is more important than anything else, disregarding the fact that if they collide with somebody else, they may actually decrease the amount of 'sanook' the other may have (if the other party survives).
    Idiots! I'm surrounded by idiots!

Really. Are you sure about your statement of comparatives or claim any such evidence of any less drunken drivers in the West? Probably not. Seems more of a case of superior-inferior complex and the associated illogical racist rantings.

There are drunken drivers in the west, no doubt. However the legal penalties are severe and they ARE enforced. If you are caught you are in very serious trouble. If you are caught more than once or twice you will not be driving again for a long time. There's no buying yourself out of trouble, either. There is also a very strong social sanction, certainly in most European countries drunk drivers are seen as scum. Many pubs will not serve you if they think you are driving. There is also the western concept of the "designated driver". The one poor sod who remains sober while everybody else gets wasted.

RS, you are either baiting people because you don't have a definitive answer yourself, or you are shit stirring.

You can make your own assessment by simply comparing Australias 'well documented' road accident/incident/fatality rate, to what 'you think' is Thailands road accident/incident/fatality rate.

Here's the info for you to digest:
    Road crash statistics

When you are ready, please enlighten me about how 'corruption' in Thailand, does not affect the number of people being killed on Thai roads. Also, please assure me that the motor vehicle licensing procedure, in Thailand, is adequate.

Ah, yes. Burden. Indeed. The oriental rarely appreciates how hard it was for decent people to make the effort to free him from the decadent slime and despotic terror into which he had fallen. You savages should be grateful we took the time to civilize you and then free you. We even gave you your own countries to run once we thought you were up to the job. Admittedly some of you let us down pretty badly there. I suppose many parents have at least some children who turn out to be disappointments

Take up the White Man's burden--
Send forth the best ye breed--
Go bind your sons to exile
    To serve your captives' need;
    To wait in heavy harness,
    On fluttered folk and wild--
    Your new-caught, sullen peoples,
    Half-devil and half-child.

Take up the White Man's burden--
    In patience to abide,
To veil the threat of terror
    And check the show of pride;
    By open speech and simple,
    An hundred times made plain
    To seek another's profit,
    And work another's gain.

Take up the White Man's burden--
    The savage wars of peace--
Fill full the mouth of Famine
    And bid the sickness cease;
And when your goal is nearest
    The end for others sought,
    Watch sloth and heathen Folly
Bring all your hopes to nought.

Take up the White Man's burden--
    No tawdry rule of kings,
But toil of serf and sweeper--
    The tale of common things.
The ports ye shall not enter,
The roads ye shall not tread,
Go mark them with your living,
And mark them with your dead.

Take up the White Man's burden--
    And reap his old reward:
The blame of those ye better,
The hate of those ye guard--
The cry of hosts ye humour
    (Ah, slowly!) toward the light:--
"Why brought he us from bondage,
    Our loved Egyptian night?"

Take up the White Man's burden--
Ye dare not stoop to less--
Nor call too loud on Freedom
    To cloke your weariness;
By all ye cry or whisper,
By all ye leave or do,
    The silent, sullen peoples
Shall weigh your gods and you.

Take up the White Man's burden--
    Have done with childish days--
    The lightly proferred laurel,
    The easy, ungrudged praise.
Comes now, to search your manhood
    Through all the thankless years
    Cold, edged with dear-bought wisdom,
    The judgment of your peers!
Don't worry about it. We always knew that if we did our job properly there would be no gratitude. The reward lies in seeing our Asian brothers and sisters acting on the ideals of freedom and democracy, ideals we taught them.

Now, now RS, let's not get defensive... On a per-capita basis, there are far more drunk drivers in Thailand than in western countries... Why, because the laws in the west penalize these folks to the extent of the law, often resulting in loss of driving privileges and/or jail time for multiple offenses... In Thailand, the BiB give fook-all and are only looking for a bribe to let the perp go free...

Statistics will prove nothing as there has to be an arrest for the crime to make it into the books... How many drunk driver cases do you think actually make it to court in Thailand?

I find it abhorrent that you suggest that I am in some way superior (racially &/or culturally).
A lack of sleep due to driving for excessively long periods, excessive alcohol consumption & a lack of 'defensive driving' ability (due to pathetic licensing laws), are the major causes of road accidnets in Thailand & also any other country.

How many die at Songkran due to road accidents? Why?

Feel free to compare the statistics to any other 'developed' country (since you are accusing me of being 'superior'), if you can get Thailands latest 'accurate' statistics.

On the other hand, perhaps you are saying that death is required for some countries?

A lack of sleep or drunkeness???? You must be having a laugh.

Death for the Thai is nature's way of telling them they don't need to eat anymore.

There is no other country in the world spawning as many morons as Thailand.

I rather think it has been accepted that they are congenitally inadequate caused by several factors not least a diet deficient in real salt and a propensity for inbreeding up country resulting in a shallow gene pool.Combining this phenomenon with an education system more suited to teaching monkeys tricks it is hardly surprising that we have a race wholly incapable of cognitive thought.

Now, if you permit these cretins to have unregulated access to a machine capable of transporting them from one point to another at speed it is inevitable they will do serious harm to themselves.

That they cannot learn from the experience and continue to die or be maimed in ever increasing numbers is simply further evidence of their congenital stupidity.

Quite why normal people drive in Bangkok in preference to taking taxis is a mystery but I suppose they may well be just bored with life.
