The BMW is now for sale as i have backed away due to political family reasons.

    No reasonable offer refused.

If anyone is interested it can be seen at the rear of Lumpini police station.

British engineering produced the spitfire and hurricane-saved our arses in WW2.
The merlin engine made the mustang the best plane of the war.
The lancaster burned lots of german cities and the beaufighter destroyed heaps of japanese ships.
The poms lost the plot about the mid sixties didnt they, having invented the mini they never went any further.
PS-dont touch and old BMW with a barge pole, toyota donk big improvement.
Funniest thing i ever saw in bangkok was an E type fastback with a 1600cc lancer engine.
In the late seventies in bangkok there were about 80 E type convertibles-we had a yellow one.

Around the same time the Harrier and Concorde (with the Frogs) were developed (along with the HST (which we fucked up and bought back from an Italian manufacturer) and a rocket which was infinitely better than the Russian or Seppo ones as it was cheaper and damaged the environment a lot less.

Still, at least we have the most advanced warships in the world.

most formula 1 racing engines are developed and built in the uk now.

there has never been anything wrong with british engineering, it was poor union and management at the production facilities that blackened the reputation.

BMW with toyota engine-perfect fit I would have thought.
Late seventies in bangkok I saw a E type fastback with a 1600cc lancer engine-not so good.

Hahaha good story! the E30 shell is worth money though, especially a 2 door. they're getting rarer.

    Its not an e30 shell,
With my minimal experience your freebie BMW is an early e21 model, made between '75 through to the early eighty's, (the successor to the old 2002 range)
From your pictures on photo bucket it has the original e21 BMW M10 4 pot lump with what i think is an early Toyota turbo taken probably from an early Gas or Derv 4runner, anyway just for the record it's definitely not a Toyota lump!.
Best thing you could have done, forget it!,
