    Not within walking distance.
Don't have the tools to take the seat off anyway.
    I'm begining to regret that.

I could get into town and take one of my rental bikes, but I'm sure my wife would charge me for it.

Any idea how to book the train?

Should I book a return ticket just to be on the safe side?

not an enormous price difference either.

If you're going from Bangkok, just go to the train station and buy one.
probably no need to buy a return, should be able to get one up here very easily at this time of year.

I know. However. I would have to put a bag of boots jacket and helmet into the hold. and retrieve them.

If it flies from the new airport it;s a shite to get to even though it is closer. The missus couldn't find her way back so I would have to leave her at the airport for four days waiting.

I am also a bit scared of planes and I am even more scared of Air Asia and it's quick turn around on the planes.

There ya go! best advice so far, I'd replace both Pos and neg cables, should be 10 GA wire, I think. In my (many) years of experience, when you have chronic electrical problems suck as you have described replacing the cables seems to be a foregone conclusion. Don't "inspect" the fuckers. Fuckin' change 'em. Charge up the battery, see if things don't work a bit better. This has been a three day adventure; why the fuck haven't you took the battery out and have it recharged by now is beyond me!

I think turning the lights off when you arrive back home pissed out of your head would help on saving the battery, just a thought although I have to admit waking up some mornings when my bike had run out of petrol due to not turning it off

I never let a bike run all night after getting pissed but have done the old "forgot to put my feet down" thing. It was really funny when I saw a Thai cop do it 3 times before he got onto the main road home.

The best one I have done is get pissed at a pub and jump onto my Z900 parked right outside the front door at closing time and be a hero and kick start it.

My foot slipped off the kick starter and it flew right up into my jeans (must have had flares on) Of course with the movement and having my leg now trapped, I over balanced and fell over, powerless to do anything about it right in front of about 50 people...

    same problem I'd had previously.

Very annoyed about this, I'm mechanically too stupid to own a bike.

Anyone got any ideas what the root cause could be?

I think your bike aint charging the battery.I forgot the name of that part that charges the battery as the bike is ON and running. Therefore the battery gets discharged after some time.
