    Is this true?

I just heard that there is an exclusive biker club here in Thailand that includes only 2 cylinder scoots of 1000 cc+. But opposed twins aren't allowed.(like mine).
What about the poor sods who drive HD 883 sportsters?

    I guess it's ok! I certainly don't make the noise of a 1200cc harley!

If it's the type of club I'm thinking of you don't want to go there.

Think tassled jackets, leather chaps and fingerless gloves, sipping tea with their pinkies pointing out.

I see. A rather smug biker club for poser harley riding fairies.

    I wasn't seriously interested anyway.

If I was to ride with a group there's a number of cool thai dudes riding old BMWs in Bangkok who get together on regular basis.

There's a BMW Riders club of Thailand. Seen their website and they seem pretty organised.

You would definately need your anorak with that many BM riders though....

You can imagine the bar talk,

"No no no, the correct torque for the lower left fairing bolt is 25.2 Nm not 25...."

Except that their web site hasn't been updated for a couple of years.

That's the model I had 10 years ago too, in daytona orange. Put many miles on her.
This R1100GS is amazing in comparison.

If you have a leak then take it to the can. If you can't fix it or know someone that can, the don't buy the bike. It's called "preventative maintenance" as all things need it. Check EVERYTHING on your bike before travelling.
