Cheapest One Week Car Rental in Pattaya

All I need is a recent car for 4 passengers, with A/C and automatic transmission. Bonus is if they deliver. Any suggestions?

The Thai guy across the soi from me says he can arrange a car for one week - works out at 1,000 baht per day including insurance.

thanks. But there are many agencies and individuals charging anywhere from 4,500baht to 9,000 baht. The problem is when you call the lower priced dealers, the only cars available are at 7,000 baht and up...

There's also a couple of car hire companies on pattaya tai, at the turning for vientiane restaurant (there's a big 'captain' paint sign painted on a hardware shop on that corner).

They charge around 1000 - 1500 baht per day for car hire, I've had a pickup from them several times without any problem.

the smallest place (furthest from the junction towards soi ghopai) will deliver, not sure about the others.

there's also another car hire place, near the castle on third road with similar prices.

Be very careful.... makes me laugh when guys say 'never had a problem.,

The scam in Pattaya is the rental followed by the 'you brought it back damaged.' Paint scraped, dent appears, something is broken, etc. they even have a relative BIB turn up to add pressure and get you to empty your wallet.

I took it alll down to the Police Station on Beach Rd and sat it out insisting it eas all a con. I had 2 lawyers turn out and a translator. Surprise, surprise the problem went away.

    Caveat doctor.

You will be hard pressed to get a car for 4500b a week (642B a day)..... cheapest ive seen is 800b a day but i suspect availability is limited.....1000b a day is a decent price, if you want it cheaper maybe look at renting it for a month (My employer covers my car rental and the one i have at the moment (chev Colorado) is 16500b a month).

The cheapest rental cars available will almost certainly not have proper insurance coverage. There is an expat owned rental place on the left as you are driving out of Jomtien- it's just past the traffic light intersection where Tepprasit Rd starts.

I doubt they'll be the cheapest, but they are reasonably priced (a bit of bargaining won't go astray either) and they won't give you any hassles, plus they have proper insurance.

    Just for the Record..

I ended up paying 6,000 for a Toyotal Vios in mint condition(one year old), with A/C and automatic transmission with FULL INSURANCE. The renter asked for a 5,000 baht deposit(for scrapes, etc. no doubt) and went over every inch of the car before turning it over to me, jotting down every scratch, dent, etc. I got all 5,000 baht back. If interested, the agency is B-P Rentals(086-6096102). They deliver and pick up...

Post removed, in case someone decides to sue me for defamation (even though the statement is correct).

Infact I scratch up a renter car owened by thai police in Khon kaen, when they came to pick up the car I showed them the damage, They called the boss who asked if I told them of the damage or did they spot it them selfs, Once he heard I had showen them damaged, he told us not to worry about it .

If you're coming to Pattaya for a vacation during the peak summer season, make sure that you reserve car before - price very differ from low to peak season. I try 3 rent service befor choose this one: thai-rent-car.com (5300 baht/week Toyota vios or Nissan March a/c , automatic transmission)
+ free GPS (Garmin, Pattaya new map)
+ deliver and pick up service
    + full insurance

I have used Budget, just off Beach Road 100 meters up from Mike Shopping, worth a try, the cheapest being a pick-up for under 1000 a day, cars from 1200.

    Na,

Google up VIP Car Rentals Thailand.

Its a comparison sight and cannot be beaten on price. Brings up all the rental companies and ya pick the car you want at the cheapest price.

I been using them for years.

If ya only want an ECO car, Yaris ETC ya will get one average price 800-850 BHT, that's with a 10000 BHT deductible if ya smash it up.
