Recent health scares have made me realise I need a car. (Plus my family and I are getting bored!)
I am a long way away from any dealer so can't just 'drop in' for a look so would like to go armed with a good idea of what I want and what I should expect. So here are a list of questions that I would love some feed back on please. I have no preference to any brand as they don't sell Holdens here My budget is up to 700,000 baht. That will change if the aussie dollar sorts it's stuff out. I also have no problem with saving some money and going second hand. I would like 4 doors as I have two young kids.
New or Second hand?
The two websites I have found in English for second hand cars are:
Siam Car Trader
Available used cars
both don't have much choice. Any others?
Car or pick up truck?
Do I buy from the local dealer or Bangkok? Are their prices the same?
Are there any good specials out at the moment due to the end of year coming up?
Are there any extra costs once I walk out of a car dealership?
Roughly what will it cost for rego and insurance?
Your thoughts on the best brand.
Getting it financed by the dealer - does that cost a heap more like it does in the west?
Thats all I can think of at the moment.
