Just a few exterior cosmetic changes and a couple of other bits and bobs. More modern and fatter bumpers, clear lenses, couple of minor changes to the interior and brakes as far as I can tell from that site.
If you have an old model you can change the light clusters and stick a new grille and bumper on it, nobody will be able to tell the difference.
Bumper is ok, seen nicer aftermarket grilles tho'.
Mortals you defy the Gods, I sentence you to travel among unknown stars, until you find the Kingdom of Hades, your bodies will stay as lifeless as stone.
They need to consider cruise control as a standard.
These 9-hour-long trips are a pain in the ankle.
Also a window defogger would be nice. In nearly 30 years of driving, I've never sat in a car that didn't have front and rear window defoggers. Until I came here.
Crap products at high prices.
That is a feature that is definitely lacking in Thailand. It seems to be only found in the top of the line models, where it is usually standard in all cars in the west.Originally Posted by Texpat

Now, would you really trust some of the locals with cruise control?
If your windows need defogging you just need to put the A/C on, it's the best dehumidifier there is. No heaters here, no need for them and they would just break through lack of use.
My top of the range Vigo was $US 20k in 2005, hardly high prices (well, when you compare them to the rest of the world apart from the US....) They are AUD 51k in Australia.

Ah! You are a 4wd 4 door Vigo owner! Explains why you took offence at my comments on the other thread when I said the 2wd is more conducive to proper performance modifications!Originally Posted by Bung
Plus extra cabs look better. 4 doors look akward on a ute. IMO, of course.
In Europe it isn't an option on a lot of cars, is an option on some others, and only comes as standard on high spec models.Originally Posted by pickel
No! They do a pefectly good job up turning the four rubber things skyward facing as it is without inviting them the enhance their stunt driving whilst fast asleepOriginally Posted by Bung
Maybe it's just a North American thing then. Longer, straighter, flatter roads pretty much make it a necessity.Originally Posted by EmperorTud

Way too much for that truck. I could get a comparable Toyota in the states for much less -- with all the bells and whistles.
Too fcuking much.
Yes, in the States...Everyone else in the world pays a higher price, along with their fuel...Originally Posted by Texpat

I'm merely stating my opinion.
It would probably go for about 15 grand there wouldn't it?
No more like 18 or 19K. A Hilux Vigo would be considered a small/medium sized truck.
Vehicles are expensive here, initialy......but the servicing and repairs are embarrasing cheap at times arent they? Residual values here will also kick the arse out of any money back you would see on trade-in day in yurp or merica. That has to be taken into account here when making comparisons to other countries me thinks.
Also, a vigo here will last about 10 years so you could say its 80k per year. its pennies.
^Agreed. I've priced two- and three-year-old Vigos and they hold their value much better here.
But I've personally decided to drive this one till the wheels fall off. I'm going to take care of it and keep it. That's the plan, anyway. Having said that now, of course, I'll smash it up tomorrow.
cruise control is standard on some models of vigo pickup.
I don't believe this for a second.Originally Posted by Texpat
Honest. Even the crap shitboxes in Japan that you can lift off the ground on either end by yourself, those little tin cans that cost next to nothing -- all have defrosters.
Never owned an old junker as a kid?
My first car was a Dodge Coronet (late seventies model, $300). Yes, it had defoggers, front and back. It was rusted and noisy and looked like a tumor pulled out of someone's throat, but it had 'em.
It defies logic how any automaker wouldn't put these in a new car.
old falcon -- no rear defogger.
You don't need defoggers in hot humid climates. The aircon does the same job.
