I've been looking through the Thai Auto Trader (I'm sure they purposely employ people who know jack shit about cars to do the layout, whether here or in the UK) and going against all ideas of rationality a Saab looks to be at the top of my list so far. I had a 900 convertable in the UK and feel comfotable with one.

We shall see. I suppose I'd better start saving my pennies....

You would never get spares for one here - cost a fortune!

I don't drive a car. It is cheaper to walk. I go through two pairs of shoes every year. I buy each pair for around 500 baht. Pretty posh, huh?

I have owned two cars in my lifetime. The first was a 1967 Ford Galaxy 500 which lasted for two years. The second was a 1987 Nissan Stanza. It was painted three colours and missing a front fender. I drove it across the United States three times. Both cars were purchased for $500 each. Nobody can say that I lack good taste in cars.

V6 wise I have seen bugger all in Thailand.

If I were you though I would go for one of these. Count the cylinders.

I have a 2001 corolla but mostly I drive my 1968 Land Rover 109. (It's got lots of character and is hard to loose it in the Tesco parking lot!)

That's a bit older than I anticipated for a Saab, but for that price I would've had it. Oh well.

I'm going to take my time and prolly get something in a few months.

Incidently, where do they have the car autions in Bangkok. Does anyone have any experiences?

Two days for me. Part of that was so they could fit the liner and tint the windows.

This seems pretty poor milage for 500 baht shoes to me, may I question what material you are running between upper shoe and the ground?
Possibly a change of compound will give superior mileage

Here is my car, I was thinking of some nice tastefull flames for along the side and six silver sprayed yogurt cartons to be stuck on the bonnet, I think that would add more sex appeal to it.

Of course it does not have any Budha images in it, nor does it have dabs of paint and goldleaf on the headlining, I am not letting those religious gits into my car and spoiling my leather black interior.....

I would go for the eight yogurt pots on the bonnet, it needs all the power it can get. 6 of them won't get ya past 180 KMH

About a month as I recall. And that included getting the glass tinting put on - couldn't open the windows for a week.

But it took the Toyota dealer another 3 bl00dy months to get it registered and get me the normal plates.

I have had it at 195km and that was without any silver painted yogurt pots or flames painted on the sides, June is the td meet in chang mai, so then I will see what the top end is, maybe get nitrous oxide fitted aswell to give it that little boost away from the traffic lights

rigger for the price of them they are a great fun car to drive, the handling is brilliant and the low end torque as long as you slip the clutch is fantastic, only had to change my drive shafts once in 20,000km, learnt my lesson on that one, dont go wheel spinning into corners in second gear while over taking everything it only loosened up the drive shafts a little bit but all that power put into one wheel while your turning does tend to wear out drive shafts real quick
