The bike has to have a legal book and plate to start with.Originally Posted by Travelmate

I doubt you will get any KTM parts in Thailand. There was talk of a dealership but I don't think it ever materialised. (even though they had a website....)
here's a link:

Call them up, I would love to know if I can get bit's in Thailand! I'm on the other side of the planet...
I got a 450 EXC and get all my bit's overseas, ebay and carried in.
How much did you get the SMT for then and where are the pics?
Fahn Cahn's
No idea rigger, you just seem to have a bad run of it. That lawyer fella, that Mac-Attack guy, somebody stealing your book, customs (or was that somebody else). Your mates missus nicking shit from you.Originally Posted by Rigger

There's a few for you.
Can't wait to go home.....
Lovely looking bike.
Always had a soft spot for motards.
There are a few lads who race them in Pattaya and Bangkok, I think Peterpan knows one of them.
Cool! That's some street weapon and should be loads of fun.
i did some shit to my dirt bike but buying a heavier spring so I could get the sag right made a huge difference. I'm 95kgish and standard is only good up to 85, I guess those are the same deal. Worth looking into.
This is a motard from the beginning and not a converted off-road bike, so I think the springs are ok for a normal weight guy (read not for me).
I'll have to try and see.
I am more interested in getting a fresh set of rims with off-road tires for it. I have heard that you need to mill down the calipers to be able to fit the bigger wheels. I would also need to make some distant pieces for the brake disc and bushings for the wheels.
Good to have something to tinker around with in the garage....
The lawer was a bad one, But the rest are fuk all. Mac attack paid 60K to repair my bike but then dissapeared with a gun and motorcycle book. Never been ripped off by customs but made to pay duty on parts it more like being held for ransomeOriginally Posted by mrsquirrel
Mates missus was pretty minor stuff.
I guess because I get around a bit and genrally have a few projects on the go at once as well as being away at work 50% of the time leaves me open to being ripped off.
Still its better than leading a boring shelted life never getting out of you comfort zone.
Some random Norse dude at Shadow Service shop in Pattaya told me he's got a bike for sale.
300k for a 750cc Kawasaki Ninja, only 5,000 km on the clock and no problems and nearly new.
Anyone interested should contact Amin at Shadow Service. It's just off Sukumvit road on soi 38/1 if I recall correctly.
EDIT: Rigger, you rock around the clock and sound like you've a story or two to tell one day man!
Mac Attack? Jeez he sounds like a fcked up farang. On the loose with a stolen gun? Better report that gimp to the cops mate.
Look his user name up, he pretended to be from the foreign legion and called Rigger his leader or president or something like that.Originally Posted by Slipstream

I am waiting to hear back from him with what price he is looking for but thought I would post some photos in the hope that a) someone might buy it and b) I can make sure that he isn't expecting too much $$ for it and therefore making my job a lot harder.
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.
Let me know how much Memock, if you get the chance.

Cb1300 and XJR1300 had come down in price last time I looked as well. You might well find one of those for a bit more.Originally Posted by spliff
Yeah, there are a couple of CB 1300's here, one a 2005 superfour. Guy wants 200,000 for it...the won is strengthing, maybe I'll go for it. No book though.
Should be a lot less than 200k.
no book used to be around 120 for an XJR or CB1300.
At the local shops around Kaeners here the owners are asking plain silly amounts of money for bikes now. 2003 cb400 - 130,000. No book.
I saw a used bike shop as you approach Korat on Highway 2 from Bangkok. The shop is on the left hand side near to the Sima Hotel. There's a flyover at that point and the bikes can be seen parked on the front. I know there's a 750 there and a couple of other equally [fat] big bikes. Something nice and big was being unloaded but I only glimpsed it.
It's worth a look.
There's also the new Kawasakis: 650 ninjas both faired and unfaired for sale at around 257 k baht [and less] but the cream of the crop will be the Zx 10R for anyone who is daft enough or a former pro-racer. Awesome bike.
Personally, I'm torn between chancing a new 650r and trying to find a good bros [prefer the 650 shaft drive] or a clean and tidy 400 cb.
I have looked at Teera Bikes in Bkk and they had a CBR 1000, a 650 and a GSXR but again the prices were just beyond Saturn and keep going; out of this world.
The second hand market here does seem a waste of time as the bikes are ancient, over priced and completely unknown, especially in Pattaya. Servicing being never heard of and a thick layer of muck and accumulated dust replacing Thai spit and polish. I've yet to see an oiled chain!
