    What Choices do I Have?

Well I must sell/trade my beloved Vigo as we are expecting a baby in August. That makes six of us and the Vigo will not do. What choices do I have for 6 seats plus some cargo space? I was looking at a Fortuner Smart (here comes the fortuner bashing) but what else is there that will have a reasonable resale value in the future? What do you guys with big families drive as I want all of us to wear seat belts?

    I'd start with a vasectomy.

I presume you have a 4-dr Vigo (me too) but can't imagine a Fortuner giving you much more space than that. They do sell leviathons here like the Ford Everest (ask Chintee) and I've seen Suburbans. They're huge, but you could shoehorn your team in nicely.

Nicely done with the seat belt thing. Me too.

Yes it is a 4-door and the wife is being fixed after the baby is born . I was really thinking about getting a van but have never seen anyone other than Somchai the idiot behind the wheel of one in commercial use. They do make nice van conversions here I must admit.

I seem to remember that driving a vehicle with over 6 seats is a "Thai reserved" activity so if you get a van take the back row of seats out .

Load of bolloxs, I have driven Thai taxies, sawngthaews, water delivery trucks, as long as you don't stop to pick up people in the taxi or start selling water aint nothing they can do.

OK I stand corrected - but -a sports club here have a "booze bus" to get people home and they have been told by the BIB that it MUST have a Thai driver.

I also had a Nissan pickup sawngthaew and was stopped and cautioned by the BIB until I took the seats out !

Ford Everest, 7 seats, from 999,000 b. and up a bit.

Chevrolet Captiva, 7 seats, from 1,189,000 b. Smaller but more modern than the Ford.
