Then it wasn't free, that would be like a barter but not FREE. Either way, clean, really clean looking bike. Lucky bugger.

Not mine, but an interesting styling exercise.
There is a shop in Hua HIn that specilaises in restoring bikes, mostly Honda ST50s. Here are a few of his before and after.
I'm not sure whether the Ariel is an NH or VH, probably a '52 or '53, but it sure needs a lot of work.
Lord, deliver us from e-mail.
I wanted one too get around the village on but the wife doesnt think it such a good idea I will have to wait till my sons a bit older then I will have a excuse to buy one and all them other great toysOriginally Posted by Dougal
As far as my pocket is concerned it was free, But yes we let the company pay some funds though.
I was blazing about on my mates one of these today.
Yamaha R1-Z 250cc 2-stroke.
All I gotta say is this is fcuking fast.
Not his bike just photo but exactly the same
Its big.
Unlike yours.
The bike, I mean.
How would you know turd troller, are you just another fat german peeper?
It ain't big MTD.
It is about the size of a CBR150 that CMN used to own. But it gets to 120km/h in about 3s or so.
^
Still own it, but don't ride it. In fact got 3 new ones coming next week.
They will surprisingly cruise up to 140kmph.
This you tour business.
The R1-Z max's out about 180kmph, but it gets there fast.
Good fun to pull wheelies on. I think it makes about 50BHP or its 56BHP.

Sorry if you think that Elim but I think I am just being realistic. I don't wish anyone harm but personally I would never get involved in renting anything more powerful than a bicycle to tourists.
That looks like a sweet ride, I love the perimeter frame and the naked bike styling. I love that harsh 2-stroke sound too. Looks like it might have some aftermarket suspension parts as well, I bet it is a riot to ride. Light weight peaky power, fun fun fun. Nice bike!Originally Posted by mrsquirrel

I wanted to get a CBR again but the wife said i'm too "old" for those racers. So it's this one then.
Saw one like this at the Red Baron. Brought in on order. Wonder where to ride this thing in LOS.

Ahh, the LEAD WING, great ride but it's a monster to move or god forbid fall over.
Easy enough if they fall over. They rest on teh engine bars. NOt too hard to push back up.
I drop my dads honda St1100 the first week he had it. Took it out for a spin went to turn around and the thing just fell straight over talk about top heavy. Dad was alright about but the worst thing all my uncles were there they still give me a hard time about.
The aussie cops stoped using them for the same reason to top heavy

I think they just recently changed the ST1100 to a 1200cc engine. I love that V4 engine. I can't remember though is it transverse mounted on the ST? For some reason I think there is something wacky like that about the bike but I can't quite remember what it is. I suppose a transverse mount is not that wacky on a shaft drive though...hrrrmmm.
Maybe I am thinking of a moto guzzi (sp).
