Bought a new car and the dealer put window tint. It has the brand name of the window tint in small black letters in the middle of the front window in 3 places. All windows have this at least one time.
I've never seen this before. Does not interfere with driving, but it is irritating they did that and it looks cheapish although unless you are a passenger you do not see it.
Anyone else have this experience?
The thing about ordering a new car in Thailand, with at least some dealers and/or manufacturers, is that you don't know what you will get. Probably true not with just Thailand. I haven't bought a lot of new cars.
This is the second new car I have bought. First one went good. This one the car came in with a two tone dash which was not what we ordered. However, I think I prefer it, so no complaint. The car has at least 3 very small blemishes on the interior. I will probably mention them to the dealer when we go for our first service to see if they have a fix. If not, it is not a deal breaker. Just very irritating that a new car would have blemishes no matter how small. First new car we purchased here did not have blemishes.
I come from a city that use to be called the used car capital of the US. A lot of reconditioning of cars. At one time the city was the second largest purchaser of Dupont paint in the US second only to Detroit. I've been around car reconditioning places a lot, so they can do some amazing things.
I hesitate to bring this up because of the possible criticism I will receive, but going to do this anyway. We financed the car. When we met with the finance person they had my Thai wife and I sign several papers. They were blank and in Thai. I ask when would we get copies and they said when financing was approved. We now have the car, but no papers. Other than a copy of the booking statement, we do not have anything that states the interest rate and payment. When we picked up the car the salesman wanted my copy of the booking statement back. I had made a copy, so really did not care. Just thought it odd he wanted it back. I now wished I had taken a pic of each paper I signed. Just wondering if anyone else was presented with blank papers in Thai and how you handled it.
Thanks.
Oh, one other irritant. The "new car", at least based on the tire and seat belt dates, looks to be maybe 9 months old. This car stayed in inventory for 9 months? Makes you wonder why.
