Finally Took Delivery of My Bike

I went through a real horror show getting my bike finished and delivered (details on another thread- I just want to forget about it), but I took delivery of my Kawasaki ZX-14R late last night. I took a fair share of (much deserved) grief over it, but at least it's here.

Of course it rained overnight and this morning (quite heavily) and is still threatening a bit, so I might not get to ride today, but I did get the chance to look it over quite well, and- surprisingly, considering how long it took to get delivered- there's not a mark on it. I started it up, and the exhaust I had installed (a titanium full CT single system from Brock's Performance in the States- it dropped over 30lbs from the bike) sounds great- I ordered the QuietKore model, and I'm glad I did as I wouldn't want it any louder.

I've also got a PC-V installed (which was mapped by Brock's for my bike and this pipe), Spiegler braided-steel brake lines and EBC HH pads, Pazzo levers (the standards, not the shorties), HID headlights, and I've got a Garmin Zumo 350 (currently mounted to the left clip-on, but I'm going to move it to the steering stem), and I'll be loading a new map to the secondary setting of the ECU later this week.

Obviously with no test-ride the thing could be a heap of crap, but it looks pretty good. I'm gonna install a new windscreen and fuel cap (and a couple other small doodads) and dump the ugly stickers on the tank pretty soon.

I've got a few more mods planned, but those can wait a while.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

OK- I'll do that later today- I'm not sure how good it will sound being recorded on my crappy phone, though.

Very nice indeed. But, why's it black; I thought you bought the blue one?

Ride extra safely, hard to see the black bikes in the dark - maybe some Thai style neon strips down the side...

These blue ones might add a bit opf colour. (& note the 'fast delivery' promise; it's a winner)
    Cycling should be banned!!!

Here's a rather unskilled vid (especially my hand at be end)- I only blipped the throttle about 1K- I don't like revving bikes in neutral, especially with a new engine:

    Nice.
My son just asked me what that was.
I told him, that's the fastest street bike in Thailand.

Hope you have a bike cam and upload some of your jaunts on her

I remember the day I went up to BKK to pick up my Triumph. I had ordered some American zip on / off panniers which they fitted for me along with the UK spec alarm / immobiliser and set the handlebars to suit me and all the mechanics lined up outside the shop to see me ride off. They made the whole experience special. The salesman also rode me out of BKK to get me on the Southern highway.
All in all a good experience from picking the bike, adding the extras to taking delivery.
Back in the UK I was right into my pocket rockets but That bike gave me more smiles per mile than any other bike I have owned and I have owned a lot
Nice looking bike though and I hope your ride gives you as many happy moments as mine did.
Treat everyone as a complete and utter idiot and you can only ever be pleasantly surprised !

I was offered a nice R one which I was going to turn into a track day bike but the other half persuaded me against it. I had a few back in the UK and used to go through a back tyre a month at times. It certainly was fun but now I like the comfortable ride but with the power if needed. The Triumph gave me all I could ask of a bike and more. Ah happy days

Failsafe, would you lend that bike to Satonic, TonyBKK or Eliminator ?

I'm no biker, but I'd guess there's more of a chance of shagging your dog and kickin the Missus ?

I'm not possessive of my toys, but I'd have to ride with them first, and also make sure they understand the concept of, 'You break it, you fix it'- from what I know of those guys, they'd most likely qualify. Personally, I don't like riding other people's bikes as I'm hyper-aware of how bummed they'd be if anything happened, and I just putter along (unless it's some beat-up dirt bike that's not worth anything anyway)

I'd love to be able to waste some money on a new Triumph. Best bikes ever made - a Street Triple for me please.
