Ain't nothin' wrong with the new Viper, either- the new specs were just released- nothing is radically changed, but the overall package has been tweaked and lightened- it's a monster.
The new suspension:

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

The thing looks like something out of a Transformers film.
It seems like a different department was responsible for each part of the body, and they all worked independently.

I'm sure they will. My post stated that the majority will have to survive in real world conditions, so your track data is largely irrelevant as far as that goes. References to motorbikes don't help your case. On road or track, bikes and cars handle differently.Originally Posted by FailSafe

Why are you such a little bitch? There are no decent sports cars in LOS for a reasonable amount- if being unwilling to drop 9mil on something like a GT-R is being 'on a budget' then yeah, I guess I am, as I would never drop that kind of money on a car- however, for 1.6mil I would certainly be willing to buy a Vette if it were available here- that's not too far north of a Fortuner.
Sorry to have somehow offended your delicate sensibilities, ma'am.![]()
Chas, the track is the track- it runs the same for bikes or cars- I used bikes as a reference as it's a major racing series I'm familiar with, and I have actually been on the track in question.
Your quote re: ride and handling, which is obviously incorrect considering the evidence to the contrary re: the car in question, which actually indicates excellent ride and handling:
As far as 'real world evidence' is concerned I specifically mentioned the C6 as there isn't any yet for the C7- since the new version is an upgrade of the old version, it would be a valid comparison. Nearly all of the 10,000+ Vettes sold will be used in 'rel world conditions'- the road gets twisty in the real world, too, and it's a drivers car- no doubt it will be used by plenty of people from stoplight-to-stoplight as well.
Oh for gods sake man, the dodge viper, another turd on wheels that will fall to pieces and lose half its value in a month.
The americans have only ever produced one car worthy of the moniker sports, and that was the original ford gt, or was it called a gt40, I forget, but for timeless appearance, desirability and sheer presence very few sports cars have even come close, and that includes ferraris and porsches.
It was succesful on the track internationally too, unique for a yank car.
Face facts, the corvette is nothing more than a spotty teenagers wank car, it even looks like it was designed by a child.
These days if you want a sports car that can be enjoyed on the roads, you need to downsize, both in bulk and in brute force, because you will never be able to use even half of thst power or speed on the road.
Ladies and gentlemen, look no further than the lotus elise, the lotus exige, the mazda mx5, the caterham superlight and the ariel atom if you want a sports car to have fun with.
All of them reasonably priced, economical, and most important of all, fun at sensible speeds
The corvette is a posers car, a boulevard barge, a dragstrip dingleberry, and a chestwig chariot.
Driven by haidressers, mid life crisis mentalists, porn stars, vegas lowlifes and trailer trash lottery winners. Its a joke, but like most jokes, its lost on americans.
Let's wait and see what the C7 is like. To be fair like.Originally Posted by FailSafe

^^^
The Exige or Elise can both exceed 80K and won't accommodate non-midgets- the Ariel Atom is a go-kart- the MX-5 is for girls- the Caterham is an unreliable kit car.
Really? THOSE are the best examples you could come up with?![]()

I'll touch on this once more-'performance' is a catch-all term which includes acceleration, handling, braking, etc- it doesn't simply mean engine output when you're referring to a race track- if you're talking about a dynamometer, sure, but not in the sense that I used it earlier.
Acceleration, handling, braking, etc are all aspects of performance- I'm actually surprised this is being argued.
Apparently the VW Phaeton does 200 MPH. Get one of those lol
"With the speed limiter removed, the 6.0 W12 Phaeton can reach a top speed of 201mph as attested by Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear" .
I dont think the caterham is a kit car now. The elise is about 30000uk pounds new. It is probably the most focussed sports car on the planet.
For having fun whilst driving, yes those are the best examples.
If you want pose, then buy a lamborghini or ferrari. But you will need track days to enjoy them.
If you want dragstrip style and like to take the curves at walking pace, then buy a corvette , the meathead of motors, its all mouth and muscle, with no class, finesse or style. A superficial car for superficial people.
^^ lol
I take it you think 40 yr old pattaya hookers are beautiful as well.
Your opinion of the handling ability is obviously incorrect due to the evidence to the contrary (that you refuse to accept), so how can anything else you have to say be taken seriously? You actually seem somehow personally offended by the car- that's another good reason to buy one, IMHO.
If Ferrari or Porsche had introduced something similar (that I concede would have a better interior, at double the price) most of you would be drooling over it.![]()
Well, it is an offensive looking car, to my eyes. European eyes that are accustomed to some restraint, some sublety, some elegance, some originality and some maturity in car design.
The corvette has none of those attributes. It is completely derivative. It is immature. It is neither subtle nor elegant, and the interior, the part that the owner has to live with and look at, is i'm afraid, a jarring eyesore of poorly integrated surfaces, materials and angles. Very much like the exterior in fact.
The original mustang, the original camaro, and the dodge charger, andthe wonderful studebaker avanti, now they had style and elegance.
Midlife crisis get a young chicky or a tattoo much cheapa
40 plus year old can be very beautiful. High performance as well. A nice combination of American horse power and British handling.Originally Posted by pseudolus
