I don't see how you avoid getting burned on the exhaust unless you ride it sidesaddle

So what about the front brake..?
Apart from getting it painted did you upgrade it in anyway?
It would be a shame to see all that cosmetic work go to waste because you ran out of road.

new brake shoes and rebuilt forks.

On the shopping list is upside forks and twin discs, with the ban on importing bike parts it is proving somewhat hard to find what I want locally.

No problem at all - never had anything go missing, as long as you use USPS or whatever national postal service the country has. Private mail handlers (FedEx, DHL et al are crooks here).

Had many bike or car parts come in have you ?

For what it's worth every parcel I have had shipped via USPS I have been stung by customs, everything else by any other method has not.

$3.00 worth of snap rings cost me $20.00 once Thai customs had their way, thankyou USPS.

$600.00 worth of Helmets (2 Helmets) cost me nothing, thanks DHL.

$80.00 Tactical boots cost me $190.00 once Thai customs had their way, thankyou USPS.

Only had 2 shipments with USPS vs the dozens of others (DHL/EMS/Royal post/Aus Post etc) that have never been touched by Thai customs.

    Never again USPS.

Would you say TNT are the same.
You don't have a account then you get reamed.
I have accounts TNT,Fedex & DHL & find them OK they have been good with the duty.

Marmite didn't say nothing he ordered through USPS was taxed- he said everything arrived safely.

I've found that lately stuff shipped via FedEx or UPS from the States has an estimated import duty charge upfront (Amazon does this, among others)- the charges can be ridiculous, and I'd rather take my chances with USPS (I haven't missed a shipment in over 10 years, and I get a lot of things shipped over to LOS).

Sometimes shippers will work with you and assign a lower declared value to your purchase, which usually means less tax- that also limits your insurance coverage, though, so if your item is lost you might be screwed- I generally take the chance and I rarely get charged by customs.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

What ban ?, still shipping bike parts in as normal as I have done for many years, worse experience was with DHL

Yes, quite a few. I always insist on USPS Priority from the US.

I usually get charged about 5 to 7 baht for tax. The only time I got charged more (a few hundred) was on a set of carbs.

read something bout it in the paper a few months ago, good to hear you can still import parts.

I'll start looking for a new front end.

Fedex, UPS and DHL do not have your best interests at heart when it comes to how much import duty is applied to a package. This is because they kickbacks from customs.

To answer Katana Iam looking at a set of USD forks with twin discs.
Why start with a SR 400 when you would like a SR 500

Find me one with a book but do not bother listing the one on Bahtsold.com for Bt.300,000 as that is atleast Bt.150,000 over priced.
