nup indicators not mounted and am awaiting time on the laser tomorrow to make the mounts which will be hung from the seat mounts outwards of the frame rails, they are sealed LED projectors 25mm in diametre.

Forward of the numberplate will be a 1.5mm stainless shield to protect the wiring.

What overall look are you aiming for with the bike? Cafe racer, tracker, streetfighter or are you just making the changes you like?

And the 2 dorra mounts, couple of pipe clamps I found at work and some PVC tubing from my fishpond as a sleeve to suit the clamps

Seat has been cut down and is at the trimmers, brackets for my LED projector indicators/tailights/brakes should be done on the laser at work tomorrow. then cut the frame down to suit the new seat.
Looking at this picture the 1/4 panels are made of fibreglass & the indercator CAN
is in for a ruff ride

Hybrid Bobber/Tracker/Fighter staying soft tail with a 3/4 seat, hate the cafe as I cannot do clip on's.

SR's have been done to death so am looking to make it different.

Not shown is the 1.5mm stainless steel plate that will run from top to bottom.

Indicator can will be gone as it will not run my LED indicators front and rear and I have no desire to wire in resistors to make it work.

Just fitting up the LED projector indicator/brake lights on the rear.

Cut 100mm from the seat today and had it re-trimmed so all things being equal I'll ride it to work tomorrow and cut the ends off the frame to suit the new seat length.

From there I will make a new rear fender (Fibreglass) and mount it off the swing arm bout 10mm off from the tyre.

Sat seat on and not happy with the bracket for the tailight so will make another tomorrow as well as the stainless steel plate to go between number plate/tyre to sheild the electrics.

Tail light is a bit bright so will ask the electric gurus at work to pull some power from it to dull it down, these are the same LED lights I will be using for the brake lights.

once all this is sorted and Iam happy it will be a full tear down to paint the tank/side covers, powdercoat the frame and have a new wiring loom made.

Engine will be going to OZ to have a 500 crank/rod/piston fitted along with some lumpy camshafts.

    Love this supercharged SR !!

To answer Katana Iam looking at a set of USD forks with twin discs.

After Shaggerback posted a picture of a SRX with a NSR Pro Am rear swing arm
it has started me thinking & I think that it would look good on your Sr400
There was one in Qld for sale for $150 bucks the swing arm with back rim & front
I think that would look cool

I thought that your are a coded welder ( sorry you need a Engineer to show you where to put it )
Nu not that hard as the SR400 has plenty of room.

I think that that swing arm would meke the bike stand out.

I don't think that it would fit in with the overall look of the bike personally.

    What ?

My swingarm is a fabricated alloy jobby that is available for anyone to purchase, same as the rims.

Given my employment and the resources I have readily available on hand I find your quip about about the "engineer" rather insulting.

Fondles how long did you live in Australia, as the way you respond is like you come from England no?
PS are you a engineer? or are you a welder & are you coded.

I don't know you ( so the engineer bit is put on the table )
You are not happy about this (why) ?

    Which one are you.

I lived in Australia for the first 34 yrs of my life, then I moved to Thailand.

I have Trades certs for Baker and Screenprinter (industrial not T-shirts).

I currently design and build bespoke Personal Armoured Vehicles which I have done so for the past 12 years, all my design and fabrication skills are self taught.

I have at my disposal 20 (Farang and Thai) engineers spanning multiple disciplines as well as a dedicated CAD dept.

being an engineer sucks cock due to the paperwork involved, my current title is Armour Engineer, although Iam not one and want to be rid of the Title ASAP (I have a strong dislike for paperwork).

I have direct access to our prototype workshop which is well equipped to make pretty much anything.

Depends on the threat level, I have used aramid fibre* for small calibre hand gun up to .44mag, anything over this I use a composite material for the doors due to weight issues and the hinges.

    * Kevlar is the Dupont trademark name for their aramid fibre.

Mate I think you will get sick of that short guard real quick I know I did on my ridged chopper, covered in road filth as well as what ever shit that was flowing over the road and god help you if it rains.
What about a custom hugger that sat close to the tire that is attached to the swing arm ?

Rigger, short guard is only temporary.

I wanted drop to drop the original one down onto the tyre as you mentioned but it was not happening so I just cut it short for the time being, when I get a chance I will pull a mold off the tyre and make a fibreglass one that fits snuggly.

Sseems like these SR400's are quite versatile.Much prefer the ones below though:
Don’t argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
