Has anyone had this problem, and how did you resolve it please. On Thursday morning September 1st, I attempted to withdrawal 14000 Baht from a Bangkok Bank ATM in Sattahip. I used a Visa Debit/ATM card and entered my PIN, the amount I wanted and agreed to the 150 baht surcharge. The machine then said "please wait" for about 2 full minutes, then returned my card and shut itself off. The screen turned red and the red/green indicator on the machine turned red, it did not dispense any money.
Of course my American checking account has been charged $472.00 for the Baht I did not receive plus Visa's 1% and the normal non-coop atm charge.
Is it possible to resolve this here with Bangkok Bank? Anyone tried it? Will Bangkok Bank work with me or will I have to do a charge reversal through my American Bank. Today I a holiday in the USA, so I expect I will hear from my bank by e-mail tonight.
I was hoping Bangkok Bank might discover the discrepancy and credit my account, without my having to ask, but it's been 4 days and that has not happened.
Thank you for any assistance. $500 is too much to just forget about.
