    Kiatnakin Bank

Does anyone here use Kiatnakin Bank ?
They give a better rate of interest for fixed deposits and are covered by the same deposit protection scheme as the other thai banks so, on the surface, look like a suitable home for the amounts needed to qualify for an extension of stay.

Does anyone know of any problems with them ?

We also deposited some money with them as their rates are much better than the rest.

A couple months ago they were offering 3% for 9 mo B/E

I steered away from the B/E because they are not covered by the deposit protection scheme.
I am current getting 3.6% pa for an 18 month time deposit

    WHT is 15%

It is possible to get a Tax number and claim it back if you think it is worth the effort

I am sure you will see more of these promotions as all the banks try to gain market share. I am waiting for the next good promo to deposit a large sum. Anyone know of any good ones?

I checked around before I took the plunge and 3.6% is the best I could find.

TMB do a big splash about their 5.5% interest but it is just another step up deposit with a low APR
