    5 baht atm withdrawal fee

i hold a ayudhya bank account in bangkok

for as long as i can remember, there were no charges if i made an atm cash withdrawal in bangkok

however recently i noticed a baht charge being added to the withdrawal amount in the password

i would like to enquire if all banks nationwide had implemented this policy and if not, which banks still offer no service fee withdrawal from their local branch network

    thanks

Yea & I've noticed that from last week there's a new message on all the ATM machines advising foreign card users of a THB150 charge, that wasn't there before, comes before you press [enter] or [whatever] to confirm the amount.

i think it's the charge from using the atm pool more than 4 times a month, the 5th time onwards you get charged 5b per withdrawal

    how exciting!

prob it is the banks trying to get some money back, usual thing

they put ATMs for your convenience, and a less well known byproduct is the need for less service staff on the front desks, so they save money

then they charge you for using this wonderful service, which is already saving them money

    good eh?
    I have reported your post

Financial institutions exist as for-profit corporations. What do you expect. If you don't care for the way they conduct business, don't do business with them.

cost me today to transfer fromUS bank to SCB account $1015.37 for 35,000 baht, so I got 34,48 and now there is a $5 charge for the transaction that will take a couple of days to show on my US internet banking.

If you're interested there is at least one US financial institution that will reimburse all charges assessed for accessing funds from their bank account.

What is their charges a month for a checking account, and the rules of conduct.
Because my bank charges me nothing for anything I do, no ATM fees or checking fees if I write a check or have my friend in America write a check and the only thing I pay is $5 a transfer fee, and I will only make one a month.

It's Schwab. And they charge nothing, no minimum balance and actually pay 1% interest per annum. So, I saw no downside - opened an account (they require a brokerage account be opened, no minimum balance, in order to have a checking account with them). I transfer money online from my checking account with another bank to the Schwab brokerage account. 3 days later I am able to transfer from the brokerage to the Schwab checking. Then it is immediately accessable via ATM anywhere up to $2,500 per day. No charges, and they reimburse any local charges.

I also get some small interest on my money in SCB here, not much, but no bank pays much on savings or antthing in a bank, US govt. E Bonds are the best interest, double your money in 10 years.
But I don't really trust anone unless they have given it to me and then no need to trust them.

    No ATM Fee at Kasikorn

Kasikornbank have yet to introduce that B150 fee, at the moment I can still use my Nationwide card to withdraw cash without a fee from either side. That's all about to change on 1 June when Nationwide start charging, I have no idea if (when) Kbank will introduce the foreign card fee.
