At the risk of being banned for mentioning another forum

, I'd just like to let those interested in Korat and environs that there is a new, non-commercial forum just up and running in the last few days:

Not much going on at the moment and, of course, only time will tell if it takes off.

We have one in ChiangMai, unfortunately lacks a bit of dynamism. the quickest response I got was 9 days and the worst was over 6 months.

Surely it would be quicker to go down the pub in Korat.

Well, there's Pasinee, which is really just a restaurant at which people consume vast quantities of Tiger beer beginning about 10 AM.

Then there's the Pizza Shop next door.

Of course, you could try the Irish Pub, but it's closed more often than not. (It was closed on St. Paddy's Day....)

And, that's really it. Korat simply doesn't have a proper bar, pub, watering hole or other place to which one might wonder in search of some suds.

That's why I spend most Happy Hours on the front porch; a few Chang for me and an ice cream bar for Ms. B.

No kidding. Rumor has it that a new British Pub will be opening soon in the vicinity of the Pasinee. I've yet to have a chance to check it out.

And, the Irish Pub is a beautiful place: first class fixtures and very nicely finished. It just needs a manager who knows how to run a bar.

I know him from TV, he's english and have met him.

Yes I know him from TV he had the best blog if I remember correctly. I read a few entries and didn't see anything of great intrest though, just an average blog. I prefered The Moog's blog.

Someone gave me a negative reputation mark based on my assertion that there are no proper pubs in Korat. Their comment was: "plenty of pubs!!".

I wonder if that person would care to support their assertion in public and name a few? I'd love to know where they are.
