Just wondering as I haven't been to Thailand for a year and half now, has it really changed as much as Stickman and others are saying about crimes against farang etc. Personally I've never had one problem in all the trips I have made and even when I lived there for 7 months. It seems to me that since Thaksin has been in power things have changed sligthly.

Not really, but from what I read there seems to be quite a few more violent crimes agianst Westerners than there used to be.

it's probably worse a bit, but now it gets written about a lot more, hell just have a look thru my dead farang thread, it makes it look like they are dropping like flies

Good point, I have to admit on my very first trip to Thailand( really just 2 weeks in Pattaya bars ) I walked up Walking Street one morning and there was a guy lying in the gutter. We thought that he had just pasted out, but no, died of an overdose.

I've noticed an increased in the attacks on Thai women since I've been here.

I have no factual point of reference other than the amount it's brought up in conversation but motocy bag snatching and attempted rapes are spoke about a lot more now than 2 years ago.

I know of a Brit girl that was gang raped by 5 thai guys, though I've never felt threatened in nearly 4 years.

I have just finished reading your gruesome thread relating to Dead Farang. It seems to me that Pattaya is the hub of such activity, and mainly envolves Germans.

My advise to Ozman is to take much care in Pattaya and make sure you are not German.

Just curious what you mean by this. The only way I can see this is that increasing traffic on his site though sensationalism he might make a bit more on advertising. Not doubting that you might be right I just don't see it.
