    Countertop icemaker

    Does anyone use one?

I bought one the other day to save space in the freezer and not be bothered with going out to get ice regularly.

    It works a charm.

My question is, is this appliance supposed to be left on 24/7 or turned off when not in use?

Are they a big power user?

Surely if you need ice on hand you keep it turned on, if you don’t…you don’t.

If it stores as well as makes the ice, I'd imagine it should be left on all the time.

MK, Can you post up some pics or refer a model? I might be a nice option at the pool bar area.

    Thanks

Does it not have the wattage rating on the appliance or the packaging?

^^Not much ice needed, you old grouch. The freezer is small and a 10B bag just about takes all the space!

As you can see, it is small. It can make ice pretty fast though, stumpy. Enough for two or three people to have cold drinks all day.

That looks pretty convenient MK. We have an ice maker in our upstairs fridge but my wife and I drink a lot of ice water at night when we chiilax. Problem is, it can't keep up. While the ice lady is only a 5 minute ride, having another source is a nice option.

watts is the power expressed in a number, usually followed by a w or kw (kw = 1,000 watts).

No. It probably means it doesn't use much power and presumably doesn't need to be switched on all the time.

A quick Google search finds that it uses very little power 0.6 A / 90-100 W (if it's the same model). So, switched on for 24 hours it would use just over 2 units of electricity - about 10 baht a day for 24 hour use.

เครื่องมือในงานครัวอื่นๆ :: *Do not leave customers Lifetime care* automatic ice machine, ULKA-12A, blue, produced 0.6 kilograms/hour. Production 15 kg/24 hours.

    Cool

The S and L (small and large buttons?)

Does that make small and large cubes or small and large portions?

The S and L buttons are for the size cubes. Those are small cubes. I will do I large ones tomorrow and see what size they are.

I like that the cubes are tapered, easier for vaginal insertion.

Fondles is confused, PAG. He doesn’t have a vagina. He wants to stick them in his butt.

What can I say, the missus likes a bit of ice cube play.

This machine would be handy in the bedroom.

These are the large cubes though I can’t really tell. Maybe the cubes are a bit thicker than before.

I turned the machine off last night and restarted at 7AM. This is what I have at 8:44.

According to the manufacturer's spiel on lazada it costs around 7 baht/day in electricity. It says that any melted ice is recycled and refrozen, so you could always plug it into a timer switch....turn off at nighttime and switch back on at breakfast and save a couple of baht per day. "Shopee. B2990."...3790 baht on Lazada, on discount !

Interesting. That's rather expensive in the big picture if accurate. I can ride my bike and get a huge bag of ice for 10 baht and it lasts me 3 or 4 days usually. But if I didn't have the access to ice so close, I would definitely consider it. Thanks for sharing MK.
