    How to scare a village.

Bit of a laugh, have a local girl who has downes syndrom, local hospital gave her a mobile phone, new government program.
If she needs help, press 191,or something, seems she pressed it 300 times, it was fun.

We live in a border soldier area no police to speak of, but 191 is a national emergency number, cops, soldiers, local resuce guys all came a looking.

Still rainy season here, card games everywhere, drug smuggling never stops, illegal logging and other crimes on going.

Suddenly loads of cops, soldiers etc rock up searching the area and there is a mass run into the jungle, kid was found, no problem.

By the title I would have thought it would be a ghost story, still it's nice to see that they still fear the law.

Just after the last military coup rumour went around in this village that the military were on their way to search for the owners of illegal timber. The place became similar to a 'Keystone Cops' movie with everyone trying to distance themselves from their stashes. Needless to say the military didn't arrive only going to show how illogical they are.

    mobile phone
Tell them there is a death phone number.

You answer it and you drop dead.

Was in the Thai news a few years ago. Did Nawty or Albert start a thread about it before it hit the news?

There's very little hope for them, bless 'em.

Google had one of their cars mapping a village in Phrae a couple of years back.

The locals thought it was a spy and surrounded it forcing the driver to try to explain what he was doing. The locals were having none of it and made a citizens arrest.

Will try and find a source. Back soon...

And Westerners pay these 'tards a monthly salary to marry them.

No wonder they think that Westerners are fools.

Not too much difference between normal and impaired Thai.

    It is what it is.

Told the family a couple of years ago, that if the full moon starts the dogs howling its means the bad ghosts will be out to find vulnerable people, bad move on my part the mother went and told her friends and the mother slept in our home that night, though like everything they forgot the next full moon.

I'd green you Jim but not able to anymore.

Interesting to see how a thread develops into something else in the end.

Wouldn't get that on TV forum. Either 'Off topic post removed' or 'Thread closed'.

    Two different beasts.
    TD and TVF.

....and probably shouldn't be used in the comparative form.

It's the literal acknowledging the figurative to form the ultimate definition of riveting.

An irresistible lure of fora bifurcation peppered with generous helpings of intricate teak web-speak has summoned you with Psychopomp as a siren of Canosa would by imprisoning you with her intoxicating & addictive qualities.

    Yes sir.
