Something to bear in mind i suppose.
Occupational hazard for pervert knicker nickers. I imagine.

Because menstrual blood is supposed to "deplete" a man's "powers" and the head is the most sacred point on the body. This is a widely held belief in many cultures, not just Thai.

You know, Thailand has over 1000 years of literary culture, not counting folklore, music, and other forms of art. Did it never occur to any of you to investigate any of it? Even given the fact that most of you are probably illiterate in Thai there are, given that Thai culture is a staple of most Anthropology Departments, plenty of English language translations available. The reasoning behind many of the stranger beliefs and superstitions can be found in a poem called "Swasdi Raksa" and its commentaries written in the early 19th Century by Thailand's national poet, Sunthotn Pu. Somebody every Thai child is aware of but seemingly very, very few of the farangs who live here.

The Russians have a wonderful and (to a Russian) very insulting word, некультурный, which perfectly describes so many of the posters on this forum.

No need for other sources for me ... I'm not trying to intellectualise it ... I just shared what many Thai have said to me.

Your point is valid ... as is how the Thais interpret the notion in today's world.
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

    Nice, Bob...
Yet, I feel you're wasting breath.
As most here fall amongst the blind and deaf circle, ignorant or indifferent to such stimulation.

For the last couple of days, I have felt that my powers have been depleted. If it continues, I will look overhead for dirty knickers. I have a feeling the woman in the flat above me is being negligent in her knicker cleanliness.

    .

Indeed it is. Some schools even set aside a celebratory half-day in hopes of remembrance......yet, such particular events are fading quickly, as other false forms of surface culture have become dominant.

As far as intellect is concerned, it won't make any difference to the average Teakdoorian.

Slick & Chico might even gain a few points, if one counts negative IQ.

I always salute anyone in uniform

    Any uniform will do.

    Salute.

The cops and the army love it.

The teachers don't seem so keen.

If they're in uniform, SALUTE THEM.

It's the way of the future........................
