Choice elitist world you are in but the brats etc actually do contribute to the wider economy. It's called competition and too bad if you're stuck in old school mode.

    Unbelievable really.

I realize Thegent is taking the piss here but I suppose I should sort it.

LT kindly invites the Handbag and I to bunk up in his Gaffer. I usually would not take up an offer like that but had met LT before and decided to take him up on the offer. Plus wanted to see his house and meet his family.

So he meets us at the Race track and leads us to his house. He provides a self contained bungalow, supplies me with beer all night, His wife cooks and provides a table full of restaurant quality food and I got pissed up and ate all the Prawn fookin curry.

Being an Aussie the next day on leaving I offered to pay him for providing all of that .

He did not want anything but I'm fooked if I was leaving without at least giving something.

So I gave him 1000 Baht which was fook all " I'd eaten that in Prawns " and told him to give his girls 500 baht each.

In reality I should of given him a lot more.

jeesus terry, you have got the manners of a fukking tramp.

one should never repay a friends freely given hospitality with money, it is the ultimate insult.

on arrival, a bouquet of flowers for the woman of the house should be presented, along with some fine wines or tobacco for the host and on departure a thoughtfully purchased and nicely wrapped gift presented to the both of them as a token of your appreciation.

save the 1000 baht notes for your thai hosts.

    ^

You could be correct but there is no way in this world given the hospitality displayed could I drive away giving fook all or a poxy bunch of flowers.

Best I could muster up was a gift for his two girls and hopefully repay LT's hospitality in a better way some other time.

Fooked if I know whats acceptable or not but the 1000 baht was only a token.

Next time back I'll bring the fookin Prawns and Piss maybe.

I was gona bring the drinks but silly fookin Somchai crashed his chemical truck and fooked my plan up, run out of time to fook around.

    Fookin coont Somchai.

Terry and I have our differences, but I'm with him 100% on this issue.

I would of done the same in that circumstance. I don't think his mate would have read the old English book of royal customs/social faux pas, or over analyze things.

I'd bet his mate was happy Terry offered to pay a token amount to cover (even partly) food and what not...

I was always hosting parties in Thailand, buggered if any of my so-called 'mates' ever offered to help pay for the night's entertainment..

I tell you what though, funnily enough, the only mate who always paid his share,
was Henry, who earned the least of all my friends... (he was black) presumably still is lol... lovely bloke... very funny guy and very popular with the ladies.

Oops I digress.. you guys are hard to please, I must say... I reckon if Terry saved a child from drowning on the beach, you'd find something negative to say lol...

"Throw her back in the water! feed her to the sharks.. let nature take it's course..."

    Good on ya Terry!

*I don't think anyone in their right mind, thinks I'm 'cute' bro (except my missus 55)
