    Quiet Songkran ?

    It was extremely quiet out on the streets of CM today, waterwise . Last year the streets were lined with people all throwing water around . Today there were just a few people watered up . Last year there were streams of water cascading down the road, today the roads were dry . The only people who seemed to be participating were a few tourists and a few bar people . What was it like where you are ?

    According the the road toll statistics released by the Ministry Of Transport, Songkran is actually the safest time of the year.

    More like 'beware of the cnuts riding them'. In other words 'stay safe'.

    Doesn't really start here 'til tomorrow. Few more drunks around from down south, spreading their temporal affluence. Less than last year, at first glance.

    Quiet Songkran
    It must be the crackdown on underboobs.

    An actual link to the Thai Minsitry of Transport, I do not have.

    So you will dismiss the following as bullshit, but you can google the numbers and look for yourself.

    average deaths per year since 2010 = 26,000/365 = 71 deaths per day.

    So far we have,

    Thursday = 25.
    Friday = 34.

    Perhaps not the safest - that could be questioned to a degree.
    The attention and media over emphasis is placed highly during holiday periods - becomes the consciousness of most.

    Just as easy to find the same number of vehicle accidents and associated deaths in any random December or August.

    I reckon non fatal accidents over the "7 deadly days of songkran" increase ten fold over any other time of the year.

    I think sometimes the figures are adjusted to account for rebirth depending on how many amulets the victim was wearing.
