Do they have them here? We have the separate rise aid and detergent, but I'd prefer to have the nice little tablets. The Midget says that Tesco and Macro don't have them, but I'm not convinced she knows what she's actually looking for.

Barefoot Fairy is best. They can manage without chains here ya know?
The only 2 in 1 tablets I have seen here were the ones I got for free with the dishwasher. But try to get the salt for the dishwasher is another problem, nobody seems to stock them and if you ask anyone they don't have a clue what you are talking about. During my last trip to BKK I finally found some bags of salt at Tesco, I bought all 4.
If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough.
Dishwasher???
None of those modern conveniences in this house! We use the old-fashioned, tried & true method - a housekeeper!
I'm not sure where you're based Wiz O but Tops Supermarket in the Central Store Pattaya have the salt and I'm pretty sure they have the 2 in 1 tabs too.
I'll bet even Misskit doesn't have a dishwasher.
The salt isn't a problem. Home Pro have it. I'll take a peek in Tops - I bet they're only 2,000baht for a small box...
I think I've seen them recently in Tops. I didn't look at the price though
^ The Midget suggested we buy loads in Bangkok and then take them back with us. I said that she would be paying for the extra weight, so she's decided against the idea.
Damn you are high class, you have met my dishwasher a few times. Post up a picture of your clothes drier.
Like a man in orthopedic shoes, I stand corrected. Tops don't sell 2 in 1's and today they had also run out of salt.
We have a Villa here to check out too. I've got to go to Central anyway, as I've been told Santa will visit us this year and I have to buy a tacky Christmas tree and related shit.Originally Posted by Kurgen
I hate to ask, but what's this salt you guys are referring to ? I've grown up with dishwashers, here in the US (and even used them in places like Australia, Oman and Dubai), but never heard of adding salt. Is this something due to water hardness ? I've used one in Bangkok, but we just used those 2 in 1 Tablets and everything was just fine.
Not sure if we will have a dishwasher at the house in Nakhom Pathom.
Thanks !
Funny thread
you fukkers will be saying you don't send the wife down the river with 2 rocks, to wash the clothes next

Dishwashers have a salt reserviour to soften the water if needed. Anything over a water hardness value of 7 (we seem to be 9ish here).Originally Posted by stevefarang
Got to get a new washing machine eventually. The top-loading cold water things are not up to the job, but the one I want is the Samsung effort with the oversized drum which is a bit spendy.Originally Posted by Dillinger
The only reason we got the dishwasher is because it is a display model and it was 12k (as opposed to somewhere in the mid 30k region if I remember correctly).
No, it isn't necessary for them (I don't know why though).Originally Posted by stevefarang
Anyway. I saw the tablets in Tops today. Only 555B for 25! So it works out shitloads more expensive than buying the detergent & rinse agent from Home Pro.
I binned my dishwasher because I couldn't find the washing tablets. Ended up having to cut it in half to get it out. I think there's a video thread about it somewhere.
is there an echo in here?
sure I've read that before....
The dishwasher rocks!
It's nice to eat and drink from properly clean stuff again for the first time since I came to LoR.
My dishwasher doesn't use tablets unless she has a headache.
