    Laos Vientiane coffee etiquette

So what the hell do you do with this lot?

All I wanted was a mug of nescafe or something like that, anyways I go to some cafe in Vientiane and ask for coffee and this is what I got.

Ok the coffee dripper thing I understand, although that was dripping so slowly it was cold before it had finished, the egg cup I assume is for the tea pot stuff which smelt like tea and had half of a tree in it so I didn't drink that, if I wanted tea I would have ordered it, plus 3 ice cubes, I don't drink ice coffee either I really have no idea what all the extra stuff was for, as for the coffee if you dripped that on your clothes they would have been stained for life, why can't they keep these things simple

I waited for about 5 minutes for the coffee to stop dripping, gave up and drunk the 1cm of coffee in the glass, obviously the dripper thing dripped on the table and stained all that, I ordered a coke in the end

Same everywhere in the world. That drip or plunged gear usually tastes like bitter sawdust and makes your head spin. What's wrong with the stuff out of a jar? It's quicker, tastier and probably more profitable when you take labour, and costs associated with those noisy, annoying bloody coffee machines into account.

What is it with the world now? You can't even order a sandwich without having to answer 20 questions about the bread type and ingredients.

Sorry, got a splitting headache this morning.

"please don't make me make decisions today, just bung it in front of me. No, I don't want a bloody Caffelatte I just want a FN coffee!"

It really wasn't that decent, just a small quarter filled glass of strong tasting black gunk, when your hungover you just want a big mug of coffee, not sit there watching the black gunk slowly dripping into the glass, I think it took at least 10 minutes to filter through

After a strong cup of coffee it is nice to have a little chinese tea.
