The Dragon Lady and I spent a little time in Bali not so long ago as part of our spend the kids' inheritance plan.Obviously it is a fairly popular and commercial holiday destination(as I've said before I believe that is a by-product of our own desires) but if you aren't keen on the crowds you can easily find somewhere quieter by moving away from the coastal areas.
As far as shopping goes Bali is the place the Dragon Lady first learnt to haggle. It has the usual markets full of knock offs but it also has factory outlets and more high end shops at Nusa Dua.
If you are taking kids there you should have no problems keeping them busy.
Where we were camping
Jimbaran Bay, a nice place for dinner.
Don't know if this guy was a goodie or a baddie
I think these two were having a barney about who used the last of the mascara
Local woodcarvers produce some nice work
We took a drive up to a volcano that blew it's top a decade or so ago.The locals had already rebuilt their village in the crater and moved back in.
The beach at Tanjung Benoa
We both enjoyed Bali very much and found it a pretty good place to unwind and spend a little time. Hope you enjoy the pics.
