    Electric Wheelchair

Does anybody know where I could get an electric wheelchair in Bangkok - secondhand preferably. It would need to be suitable for a small adult.

    Many thanks in advance.

The missus nephew has a manual wheel chair. I know there is a disabled childrend school up near Laksi way, they might be able to point you in the right direction.

I would presume that the wheel chair is for inside use only?

Thinking about it I honestly have never seen an electric wheel chair in Thailand.

The Chiang mai disabled centre down the road has a number of second hand weelchairs. If they don't have electric ones i am fairly sure they will know where you can find them.
I'll get back to you on that soon Dougal.

Thanks for the replies. Our friend does have a manual chair at the moment but she is not very strong and we are hoping that an electric unit would at least let her get to the shop without trouble.

An electric wheelchair? Must require a pretty long extention cord.

    Yes Tex thank you <sigh>.

The reality is that sounds like it will be cheaper to pay someone to push her around.

There's a place on Thonglor (Sukhumvit Soi 55) that does stuff like this. I don't know for sure, but they could be called 'Fascino'.

Thanks for that Marmite, I'll see if I can get her mother to go up there and take a look.
