If you get up to use the bathroom during the night, please whatever you do, keep the light off. Even the tiniest bit of light in the room can disrupt your circadian rhythm and your pineal gland's production of melatonin and seratonin. As soon as you turn on that light in the bathroom, you will, for that night, immediately cease all production of the important sleep aid melatonin and this has been clearly shown to dramatically increase your risk of most cancers, but especially breast and prostate cancers.

^Of course, stumbling around in the dark, slipping on the wet tile and crashing my head into the sharp corner of the cistern won't affect my circadian rhythms at all....

Our cicadas keep up the rhythm the whole night, bathroom light or not. Amazing how these insects can sing!

Everytime I keep the light off in the Loo at night I piss on my foot!

Then I have to put on the light so that I can shower it off.....

In Bangkok I leave the light off, but in Ayu I never know what creatures may be lurking in the bathroom, so I turn the light on.

I bought a bunch of these little keychain lights that are really bright. Never a dark moment boys.
